Jeez i might get 300-400 but thats city.

If you were thinking anything other than falcon a TX5, as Dez suggested is a good suggestion. They are fairly roomy for what they are. I can fit my mates in comfortably. Performance is more than what you would expect from a 4 banger. Sure there is better ones out there but i payed $4000 for mine.

Mmm $5000 for an EL/EF. I dont know much about falcons but to me that seems a little to cheap to get a good one although you might be lucky to pick one off an older person. I know a person who picked up a VR commodore for $4000 which only had a few minor probs.

I'd look for a good Falcon EBII or later. Ex taxis are a bad idea as the taxi drivers get rid of them before they cost too much to fix.

Yeah i got an 89 TX5 Ghia and love it aswell. Im just saying in my day to day use. Lots of traffic lights and variable speed limits. And performance wise its great for what it is. Plus sounds meaty to from exhaust
:hihi: Appart from the clear coat she looks great. Although more often than not the majority of them look like shit.

yeah the paint on mine is good. except for the massive key job down an entire side of the car, that ill get taken care of sooner or later...

i know what you mean though, if you start to give them a bit, you can almost watch the needle on the petrol gauge fall!!!!

An ex-taxi. You can get an AU or perhaps a BA for under $5,000.

They go damn hard to, but they are yellow in Vic, white in other states!

yeah i dont know about the ex-taxi.

Its nice to be in a newer car, and they are looked after but still, its a shyte load of kays.

You should easily be able to get into an EF/EL for that money. Thats what I would do.

But looking back I wouldn't of minded a little car that was better on fuel. But if driven nicely I get 450-500k's easy in city (geelong) traffic. 700-750 if it was 100% freeway.

The ex-taxi thing is actually not a very bad idea. They might look like they're falling apart, but they're inspected (in NSW at least) by the RTA every 2 months for road-worthyness. All the seals, bearing, bushes etc etc and mechanical bits on them are road-worthy, even if they look like a total POS. Very good for cheap transport.

Dont get an ex taxi. They're all rattly peices of crap. A nice low kilometer EBii or ED would be heaps better.

It's $ 6,300 but I'm a reasonable man.

The ea i've got now i think its about to bite the dust, chewing oil get hard to start up. I can get an ef/el easy for 5 even 4500 plus i like the fron of an el. Bloke told me to spend an extra 5500 and get an el fairmont ghia cause the 6 is a tickie motor.
