Default Volkswagon duelcab ute spy pics

http://www.caradvice.com.au/12381/vo...st-spy-photos/

A possible new entry to the growing duel cab market.
Rumours suggest a 175 kw Turbo diesel V6. A possible sports model would rival the Hilux TRD, it would have the 220kw Touareg 5.0l 220 Turbo diesel V10.

I like the look of the spy shots.

Wow, I know its a diesel, but a turbo V10 that only makes 220kw?

To be precise 230kw and 750nm.

If they use the R50 V10 TD 258kw and 850nm.

Diesels are all about torque.

Gotta love that torque. 750Nm seems a bit low doesn't it? I mean, my 2.0L makes 320Nm. Surely they could push that figure higher.

Looks the goods though. Would be interesting to see if it would take off as the Australian market is probably already saturated with dual cabs.

The VW V10TDi had 230kw/750Nm in 2003 with the 3rd gen common rail, yes it's low (relative to it's displacement) by today's 5th generation common rail standards. That truck is not getting the V10. VW just cancelled it's plans to release a pickup version of the Touareg. I think that thing is a rebadged Nissan Frontier/Navara.

From what i am lead to believe, we won't see this if it comes here till at least the end of 2010. There are more spy pics on www.worldcarfans.com

I am hoping for its release earlier (Volkswagen commercial sales consultant) because its just what we need. The Transporter Dual Cab is a fantastic vehicle, but we need something that is more car like and i believe this is the answer.

Mate has a DC Transporter and loves it, as does a forum member. You do need something to compete with the Hilux dual cabs, which have replaced more than a few Territories and Falcons in driveways now that the back seat is useable and they are more female driver friendly. Tell them to offer a reversing camera.
This would be great and a Dual cab version of Territory would have rocked too.
Liked the one on Curious George the Movie, shame only a cartoon car.

Good point the new diesel duel cabs make a great go anywhere family car that are cheap to run, the only downside is they are a little harder to get in tight parking spaces like most 4wd's.

WE do need reversing camera's, we can install aftermarket versions, but unfortunately VW haven't included it as even an option at this stage.
Good to hear people are enjoying there DC Transporters, they are an awesome unit, and i love there road holding ability. I think we are missing this family type of dual Cab though, and the faster this ute comes out the better, it will compliment the rest of our enormous range.
