I don't understand why the narrator says: "You're about to see every Australian built vehicle to be awarded ANCAP's highest safety rating" It's like saying the "Falcon is a 5-Star ....BUT, BUT... soon Holden and Toyota will be just as safe too." I kinda defeats the purpose of advertising it if it's competitors are about to be just as good.

its one car, the Falcon, he should have said "You're about to see the very first australian built car to receive a 5 star crash rating" It's like they're trying to market two different models, the Falcon and the G series, which IMO is stupid, its the Falcon XR series and Falcon G series |

I don't think this ad was to be out til tonight for the Games. Don't quote me on it but im reasonably sure. Oh, well. It's an improvement. They still coulda stuck it up Holden and Toyota.

"You're about to see every Australian built vehicle to be awarded ANCAP's highest safety"
they say that to show that there is only ONE car to be awarded that, the FG falcon, in a way NO ONE else has been able to get that... ie holdens billion dollar baby this way makes the others look bad if they said your about to see the very first aussie car to receive the 5 star rating then its like, well thats no biggy everyone will soon thats what i learnt in english in high school with the use of certain words in a sentence and i got a High Distinction in that subject so i cant be wrong its not what you say but how you say it, i think its one of the cleverest ads FORD aus has produced, but more people want ford to take a stab at other manufacturers for a laugh, ford that want that demographic for an ad about safety

Great work - looks like Falcon is coming back into the picture though. Either ways, they should flog it like they stole it.
more and more FGs on the roads now days which is great. Ad highlights the only Aussie motor to be awarded. Smacks Holden and Aurion who have bith been flogging "aussie" taglines..

Yes I see, I shall continue to try and improve my poor English understanding... heh
I've noticed some people have been a little hard on the new Falcon sedan ads. Yes they are not, say 'adrenaline-pumping' and finger walking did get on my nerves. I think those ads are good when you ignore the hands and focus on the smooth music along with the country scenes. Although, Ford should air them more often because I rarely see them on TV and this new ANCAP commercial shows how the Falcon is the safest Australian built car. C'mon Ford, air your commercials more often and show the public what you've got - Safest Australian built car ever! |

They could have made a new add for it, instead of cutting bits out of the G series one..
Dissapointed, yet again..

Though the ads during the opening ceremony were exceptionally annoying, it was good to see the FG was the only car advertised.

It's a clever ad. By saying what they did in the ad, then showing the G series Falcon, it reiterates the point the FG is the only Oz built car to be awarded the 5 star rating.

Noticed alot of Printed ads in papers including ones from TAC and other motoring groups congratulating Ford on the Five Statrs. Good publicity!

I had no idea those roads at the beginning of the ad had won a five star award. ;)
But in all seriousness I guess they had to keep that stupid theme going from the original ads for continuity if no other reason. Good to see the fingers were absent and Ford actually managed this time to concentrate the message on the car and what it offers. Step in the right direction. Dan |
