some bright spark decided to etch his no. plate no. on every piece of glass on my xw, before i bought it .It now has different plates and want to know if any one has removed this before?Havent tried anything yet just after any tips.cheers, Ben :sm_headba

the window etching idea is ok if they use the vin number but for the reason you have, its not good to use the rego number.
depends how deep the etching has gone, a windscreen place might be able to buff it out, apart from that you might need to replace the glass.

I remember many years ago I bought a new car and also got a vehicle protection system which included the window etching, it wasn't the rego number but I recall they said a thief would have to replace all the glass to get rid of the numbers....this was a long time ago though and Im not sure if it can be buffed out

Etching is usually done with acid. Find a place that does this and get them to wipe yours.
