has anyone converted any au to manual?
more so has anyone converted a 5ltr au to manual? i will be doing this to mine soonish and just want to ask some questions. i converted my ed to manual and it was pretty easy but an au is different. i remember having problems getting speedo and indicators working but i just sent it to an auto elec so i think ill do that again. all the labuor part i can do as i am a mechanic but electrical im a bit shaky at. also i heard the capa flashers can change the ecu so it suits a manual is this true? it comes with an ecu but then i cant use my capa flasher on it. cheers josh.

I changed my Series 3 Au XR8 220 from auto to manual about 2 months ago. I paid my mechanic 700 bucks and he did the whole thing.

I'm assuming the 700 only covered labour? How much was it for the parts and what was needed?

Has anyone had tobles with them? Ford has, which is why they are no longer use. The T3's didn't run the T5Z either because they weren't up to the task. |

There is a 500hp+ falcon on the forums running a t5z and he has done for years. I have seen this falcon blow clutchs on the strip but not gearbox's? There not the strongest gearbox around but are up to the task.
I paid 1500 for my conversion kit (wiring loom and manual ecu) and everything else to go with it. I bought a Kobra clutch and a billet lightened flywheel. All up drive in drive out fitted it cost 3500.

ahh yeah thats alright i think ill stick to a stock clutch for now as they are a bit nicer to drive with then ill replace it when it burns out.
and yeah i think they would be aswell thats why im getting it im not rough on gearbox and its not a drag queen but it will be going down the strip to see what it runs when i get it done. cheers josh.

The clutch is awesome. It was a bit pricey but has no trouble dropping the clutch in second at 60 and spinning the 20's...
