Default Top 10 Stolen Cars, Top 10 Worst Suburbs [Perth]

Sorry couldn't see a thread for this anywhere, apologies if re-post.

Top 10 cars stolen, July 2005 -June 2008 - http://rac.com.au/About-Us/RAC-eNews...rs-stolen.aspx

Quote:
1. Holden Commodore 1988
2. Holden Commodore 1991
3. Holden Commodore 1987
4. Holden Commodore 1989
5. Holden Commodore 1992
6. Holden Commodore 1990
7. Ford Falcon 1989
8. Holden Commodore 1993
9. Subaru Forester 2000
10. Toyota Hilux 2006
Interesting that Fords/ Holdens disappear past 1993.... but Subaru and Toyota in the top ten in the 200x models.

And it looks like if you want your car stolen, the best place to be is Fremantle:

Top 10 Suburbs of Car Theft - http://rac.com.au/About-Us/RAC-eNews...car-theft.aspx

Quote:
1) Fremantle
2) Perth
3) Morley
4) Cannington
5) Mandurah
6) Joondalup
7) Armadale
8) Midland
9) Thornlie
10) Gosnells.
Cheers,

T

Indeed, there seems to be a real concentration of theft in that area of Perth. Checkout what RAC say about this:

Quote:
Five of the top 10 suburbs – Cannington (4), Armadale (7), Midland (8), Thornlie (9) and Gosnells (10) – are concentrated in the south-east metropolitan area

I had a VQ Statesman (VN era) which was stolen 3 times and dumped in Mt Druitt. When I met the towey the 3rd time as I knew exactly where it was going to be dumped and he showed me how ridiculously easy it was to steal it, I sold it.

Essentially it was *crackersINC super-edit - please don't give out info on how to steal cars.*

Car theft is the last thing you have to worry about in Armadale. Might want to invest in a bullet proof vest.

This thread is skating on thin ice. Two posts have now been made with a description of how to break into various types of cars. This sort of info is not what we want floating around on the forums. Please note that if i have to edit another post regarding this the thread will be closed, thanks.

Those that live/have lived in Armadale will say otherwise, that perception is only held by those strange north-of-the-river folk

If ya have a crap enough car it can be left in Freo and not be stolen.
When working on Rotto, I left mine there for a week with missing driver window and not a thing stolen had my tool box sitting on the back seat too.
North and south of river have thier areas where you need fast legs.
