Congratz to the kiwi's. Was a very well played second half, and for once i can't blame the ref's for poor decisions.

you must have been watching a different game to the one that I watched with 50,000 other people at Suncorp tonight. they kept the Kiwi's in it all night. I am not saying the Aussies didnt make a heap of mistakes and probably didnt deserve to win in the end but there were some blatently wrong decisions there tonight from on the field and the video ref aswell.

Can't agree with that one. I thought the ref did well.
Both sides made basic errors all game and both teams had more than enough chances to win it.
Have you seen the replay??

Was a great result....I wasn't even gonna bother to watch it expecting such a one sided affair...but after son told me the score 20 minutes out from full time I just had to grab myself a JD and was glued to the TV from then on. Awesome

Kinda ironic that both countries are chokers in their more dominant code of footy. The All Blacks can't win a cup to save themselves, and now the Kangaroos get a flogging. :P

I think it's good for the sport.

Apparently this is the first non-Australian team to win the cup since Great Britain in 1972.

If that is true, then it's just boring to constantly win it. Good to see a different face on the podium.

What's the point of having a League game so far after the season's ended? The players would have been barely match fit.

The NRL season finished with the grand final on the 5th of October. The Rugby league world cup started less than 3 weeks later..
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the players were still in pretty decent match shape.
Or was what you said just a really bad excuse for losing???

The *grand final*, not every player on the park played in the grand final. I'd be quite surprised if the majority of the players didn't wind down after the season ended.

Didn't give a rats about the result, didn't even know the game was on. That's how interested I was.

I would have given a rats if they played the match *during* the footy season. Based on reports it was a scrappy game which isn't much of a surprise.

If the other side had won you wouldn't have said that!!
Btw it wasn't a scrappy game either..
But you know that..
Both the commentators said it should be a penalty try..
You and Ricky Stuart should get over it!!
You cannot have a world cup during the domestic footy season...
Same with any touring test series..

The result is inconsequential. I'm Scottish, if I were to choose the team I wanted to win, it would have been Scotland, not Australia!

I also didn't say anything about a penalty try!

If the World Cup was being held in the Northern Hemisphere, I would want it to be played during their regular season, as it was - it was held 1 week before Summer in possibly the worst place to hold it during this time of the year.

I'm all ways bemused to see Australia whilst being good enough to live in is not good enough to support in sport.

The result is the above and a reason i spend my time on a CAR forum.
