Default AU2 auto g'box yoke remove

Is there a trick to removing the yoke from an AU2 XR6 4-speed auto box?

I was expecting it to just slide straight off as in the many times I've slid a tailshaft out, sometimes even when I didn't want to. But this one has a bare yoke, no tailshaft, so I don't have the weight advantage

But it feels like theres something "solid" holding it in......don't wanna force it and break anything

Advice please anyone???????

I'd like to know this also, as I need to replace mine very soon.

i assume its a 2nd hand gearbox you got and the yoke is put in as a plug? the yoke normally builds up some rust and at the point where it sits outside the rear seal, on transport they push the yoke in past its normall seating point and now the build up just gets stuck on the seal. give it a few gentle nocks with a hammer to loosen off if need be, but good chance that the seal will beno good afterwards one way or another

Thanks guys. It came out fine.

I just didn't wanna break anything if Ford had decided to put a grubscrew in or something similar.

Just being over cautious as the box was already sold.

Thanks again
