I see some weird stuff on country roads, but came accross this monster south of Goondiwindi yesterday. Voices over the UHF said 6.5 Meters wide - I believe it!

Had two trucks pulling and one pushing - I dont know what it was but it was big!!!

That would be a power transformer by the looks of things. Mighty big sucker too. I've seen this carry rig used on a couple of occasions. I would know Wilsons storm grey, & Reinhausen drive shafts anywhere. lol
Geeze - I REALLY need to get out more.

nah.. thats just a toy mate. lol.

heres a ute i passed a few weeks ago.

the chassis

the ute bed

this one was 8.7m .

would have been another couple of trucks somewhere with the wheels and tyres.

we get a lot of big loads going through here, 7 plus metres are pretty common. mostly mine machinery.

that one of yours looks like a big power transformer for the electricity supply somewhere. would be a very heavy bit of gear.

The second is just an off hwy truck. They normally transport them over in parts and put them together on the mine site.

The first does look like a crusher of some sort, it would need to be big when the truck body is about 300+ tonne....actually I think the off hwy truck isn't that big.

It would have been some sort of transformer. Good to see the Volvo in its rightful place. :hihi:

Here’s the same Aerodyne heading north over the top of Aeroplane with a bridge beam for the Coolac bypass.

The same one again at the bottom of Little Wagga.

One of his mates in the same spot. I should of held my line and taken out the camera. :hihi:

Here’s two of Wescombes on the south side of Tomingley heading north. They said that these were 6.8 wide but I wasn’t game enough to get out with my tape measure.

The OP's pics look like a big Wilson Transmission transformer, they are usually transported bare like that.

Had a 7.5m wide dumper chassis come through Moree this morning, three escorts in front , plus a HWP car, then an escort at the rear.

Had the UHF on in the ute and the copper commented on a couple of young ladies having coffee at a cafe where they turned onto the over-size route and then again when they went past the school. He didn't like being picked out as the one saying it on the the radio and the other boys in the convoy gave it to him.

Those mongrels had me stopped in the driveway of the mine while they dawdled past. : It was concerning, however, to see the behind them trying to overtake them off the side of the road.

On a lighter note, a low loader with a water truck on the back decided to break down right in the middle of the Narrabri bridge this morning. I thought he was going awfully slow when I came round the corner.

I take it this stuff can't go by rail... Must need a lot of diesel to move that stuff.

I saw on the side of the Hume southbound a week back near the M7, a truck carring a massive concrete pipe, but there was just a frame on both ends of the pipe, with the pipe itself being the "chassis" to the rear dolly.

I know the new dozer is coming online for the Electric Drive. That's going to be a headpspin.

You wanna try changing oils on the CAT 797 series trucks. (about 360 t truck)
It has about 10600lts of lubricants/fuel/coolant capacity. Add an extra 3000lts for a 24 hr fuel tank.
You would need a house loan, just to do a major service or just for fuel! LOL!

What's scary about shipping these things, is when the truck arrives to pick up these machines, is too small for the job, but yet they demand it to go on.
Pffft...Drives me nuts!

I watched the Ice truckies last night on Foxtel, man, dam scary when the ice melts.
Crazy stuff, when all you can see is massive cracks in the ice and water gushing up (flowing water is bad, really bad). That's sphincter pucker factor right there.

Dozer was displayed mid this yr.
Cat have no electric drive mining truck....yet. Doesn't matter electric drive is only good on flat surfaces....hence why CAT own the mining market.

Flat surface????? Tell Komatsu that they cant give their wheeled dozers away because everytime they go downhill they need a brake changeout.

Cat was going to use Terex drive systems in their trucks but I think that all fell through a couple of years ago. It will still be a Siemens AC setup though, Good luck.
