Went for a drive down to Phillip island yesterday and managed to get the car to 9.1 liters per 100k's which is as low as i could get it on the way there and on the way back it sat on 10.0 comfortably with abit of traffic around and alot of roadworks which didnt help. i thought that car did alright considering it normally sits on about 13.5 or so. What has been the best YOU have gotten Your car to? Don't post up how "oh my mate got his car to 6.4L/100k's" but how you have gotten your car to go. Around town or on a trip, i am hoping to get it under 9 when i go away later this year.

I routinely manage to keep it at 8.5 l/100km during trips going on LPG!
This is the computer average consumption estimation confirmed at the pump. This weekend I drove 350km and it cost me only ~$12, my mate was driving behind me in his Pegout 207 turbo diesel and paid ~$16 for the same trip- how good is that

A little off topic: although this gets me to thinking, im planning a road trip with some mates from adelaide through to the great ocean road to Melbourne and then all along the beach coast to the big smoke in Sydney, we're calling it the East Coast Tour haha. We'll be taking my car, i hope to be able to achieve about 8.5/9 on the road but the query i have is this: The EF tank is 68 litres supposedly, and when i put $50 in from the red light being on (at 99.9c, 50L basically) the needle goes right up past full, where would there be space for another 13 litres?? PS: sorry for the long post |

Get 15 to 18 around town in Dad's prado, god thats bad, even with a soft foot.
The bad consumption is apparently offset by toyotas massive 180 litre fuel tank... |

5.8L/100km in the 307. Turbo Diesel FTW!
In the Falcon, I get roughly 12.5L/100kms on LPG.

I just got 10.5L/100km from my Xr6 ED, pretty much as light footed i can be only better if i down more hwy km's, i didn't really do much. I filled up 32 litres and had done 304km on the tank . Def notice a more increase in consumption even with a little bit of a heavy and more enjoyable driving.

In the work triton on lpg = 20l/100km : it has 140ltr lpg but you only ever get to use 130ltr before it dies.
In my Futura I wouldn't have the faintest, odometer and trip computer does not work so I just fill up when I need to. I have a lead foot and would hazard a guess at 15l/100km round town, definately 10l/100km sometimes less on country trips, I know how many k's it is to my mums and so can tell by how many litres it takes when I fill up. |

In my xr6 i got down to 8.6L/100 on the freeway and about 13L/100 city driving before the exhaust mods, since i got the exhaust i havent been keeping track of it, just waiting for the computer to adjust a bit first.

7.9l/100km is my best 100% highway - 4 speed BF on 95 octane, 110kph with frequent overtaking :evil3:
LPI being fitted tomorrow - once fitted I might do the same trip again to wear-in the injectors and see what figures gas gives me!

7.9l/100km was achieved with two passengers, around 40kg of luggage and no A/C. So pretty light travelling. But still plenty of violent overtaking spurts :evil3: Edit - 13 000km on the clock, so barely worn in.

I managed 9.6L/100km in a stock ED with A/C and 400-500kg of load from Sydney to Melbourne running premium unleaded, with the occasional hard push too. I was pretty happy!

Series II AU XR6 with VCT - drove 700 kms to a tank of fuel! hows that?
drove from where I live to Cooma 700kms and from Cooma to 2 hrs north of Sydney (my destination) I got there on two tanks, and there was quite a bit left when I arrived - maybe 1/3rd tank My AU might not be the fastest thing out there but imho it barely sniffs the fuel BTW : It was carrying 2 adults 2 kids fully laden boot, back parcel shelf and area between two kids on back seat my BAxr6t which I havn't reset its stuff has settled to around 12.5l/100 average this is a mix of highway round town overtaking etc etc... I don't think this is too bad a figure either

That's a nice, flat drive for anyone wanting to test fuel consumption. Nice and scenic around the Riverland too! Never have managed to reproduce that drive, ever. The wife moved back from Mildura not long afterwards, so I don't drive up there anymore. The Peugeot got us from Murray Bridge to Melbourne on 3/4 of a tank of diesel there last year. There were 5 of us in the car as well, so not too bad.
