Default 5yo Girl deliberately thrown off Westgate Bridge

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574...67-421,00.html

A SEARCH is on for a man believed to have thrown a little girl from the West Gate Bridge this morning before driving off.

The girl, believed to be five years old, was pulled from the water by water police close to the pumping station at Spotswood about 9.30am.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman Paul Bentley told ABC radio that the child had been flown by helicopter to the Royal Children's Hospital in a critical condition.

"The child suffered fairly extensive injuries and the paramedics spent some time trying to resuscitate the child," he said.

Ambulance Victoria was called just after 9.30am to a report of a child in the water underneath the West Gate Bridge, Mr Bentley said.

"I understand the police boat was used to get the child from the water to the Yarraville side."

Witnesses told police they saw a man stop on an inbound lane near the top of the West Gate. It is believed the young child was then thrown over the edge.

He threw the child into the waters below and then drove off, they said.

Police are investigating how the incident happened, and would like to speak to any witnesses.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit website www.crimestoppers.com.au

I cannot post here my thoughts...........

Nope, he'll plead insanity or some other load of bull, spend a few weeks in a cushy psychiatric ward, then suddenly get healed and released!

So far, we've had wires across bike trails and now a little girl thrown from a bridge into the Yarra....

Why did they get rid of the death penalty anyways?

That's just despicable. Hopefully the 'upstanding citizen' they have held for questioning is the scumbag responsible. I look forward to his fellow inmates giving him a touch up in a manner that law enforcement can no longer do.

OMG. As above, with a little one I cannot think how people do this.

Surely the cameras on the bridge got it all?

In physics we calculated it'd just take a little bit over 3 seconds to fall from the bridge and hit the water and the force you hit it with is huge.

i cant believe this could ever occur i have a boy who is almost 4, and whilst he can be naughty, that is not now, and never will be the answer for his naughtiness. I just sincerely hope that the bloke that did it, gets what's coming for him... And i hope that no lawyer will represent him on moral grounds.

This is why the Death Penalty should be brought back in asap, why do our governments listen to do gooders when there is such FILTH amongst us,
you really should look as anyone who says we dont want the death penalty with utter contempt and suspicion as to what they have done in their earlier life, i hold people who dont want it as not much better than the people who do despicable acts

Death is to easy, stick him in a 6x6 foot room with no light except for 15 mins a day while big bubba has his way with him, then some random bashings in the dark. This is a despicable act and I hope the government comes to their senses and charge him with murder even though she is looking like living.

He does not need to plead insane, it is quite obvious he is insane.

Once people with mental problems were kept in hospitals and special facilities where they could be looked after and prevented from being a danger to themselves or others.

In the "enlightened" 21st century they have "rights" and are free to run about in society almost unchecked. And then stuff like this happens and we all recoil in shock.

They will catch him and lock him up for a while but I suspect that sometime in the future some do gooders will find he is now "cured" and release him.

Once kids walked to school, not now as there are too many crazy people about.
Once we had never even heard of kiddie porn or paedophiles, now they seem to abound.
Once road rage was something that you saw in a movie, now it is becomming commonplace.
Once almost everyone had a gun in their house (not so much in the capital cities), now they are banned because too many crazy people misuse them.
Once it was safe to walk the streets at night, not any more.
Once you felt safe at all times, especially in your home or car, not so much now.

I wonder when the academics and do gooders will admit that the big social experiment of the last 30 years has been a disaster. Yeh right........
