Hi all,
My AU XR6 VCT has developed an oil leak from the VCT unit, and I heard a nasty rumour that to fix it there is 2 seals in the VCT itself and you need to pull the tappet cover off (and replace that gasket also!!) to get to both. Does anyone have any experience in this field? |

is it the solenoid or the unit itself? if its the solenoid you will have to replace the whole thing but im not sure about the unit itself, have you got it off?

it is the unit itself, i dont have it off at the moment but i have had it off a while ago to replace the outer seal... didn't fix the problem tho!! the solenoid seems to be dry and the leak appears to be seeping from directly at the bottom, so i'm sure it is the unit itself. I'm a bit surprised as i didn't think the oil pressure there would be very high.
