Default Man sets fire to himself while torching his Ford Falcon

A bit extream i would have thought...... :togo:

Although sometimes i just feel like......Grrrrrrrrrrrr :

COURIER MAIL

Mark Oberhardt
July 10, 2009 12:00am
.A FRUSTRATED Toowoomba man was so angry at his car continually breaking down that he set it on fire and in the process ignited himself.

The Magistrates Court heard the man, 21, was taken to hospital with burns to his face and hands after the fire, in April this year.
The court heard emergency services had earlier been called to put out the Ford Falcon which was burning in Boundary Street, at about 2am.

The magistrate noted the man's car had not been insured and was worth about $3000.

It was lucky the car was the man's or he may have been charged with arson instead of the lesser charge of unauthorised lighting of a fire.

He was fined $300.

*sigh*...I knew this would cause an argument and should have not posted.

"A Darwin Award is a tongue-in-cheek honour named after evolutionary theorist Charles Darwin. Awards have been given for people who "do a service to Humanity by removing themselves from the gene pool" (i.e. lose the ability to reproduce either by death or sterilization in a stupid fashion)"

Apart from setting himself on fire, what was lighting the car going to achieve if it wasn't insured??? He's still out of pocket.

Maybe he should have watched Fawlty Towers to see how John Cleese teaches his car a lesson!

When I had the continual ongoing problems on my XR5, and I was getting no help from ford, a few times I thought about returning the car. Through the showroom floor and 50 k's per hour. So I can understand his frustration.

I kicked the crap out of my Mrs's Celica once ...... shame as it was a nice little car but had a caved in door afterward. Also picked up the lawn mower and destroyed it against a brick wall so can understand how frustrating things get ......... but its still a stupid thing to do. Didnt think there was a law about destroying your own property, especially if its misbehaving
