This would be better poster in the AUfalcon.com section.
But im pretty sure you need these 2 U shaped tools which you shove into the holes on either side of the player. You can make them out of a coat hanger. |

These pins have a little notch taken outside of the inside edge to help grab the unit. The pin diameter is around 3mm to 3.5mm if I remember correctly. Try asking your ford dealer if he'd let you borrow them on his site, or spend ten bucks and have them remove it for you.

You can make you own tools as well.
You need stiff wire the same diameter as the four holes in deck. Now bend the wire into a U shape, the two legs are about 100mm long, and legs need to be the same distance apart as the holes in the deck are. Once you've made two of these tools, slide them into the holes until you feel some resistance (you've reached the locking tabs) then push a little firmer to slide the wire past the tabs (this will spread the tabs, unlocking them). Now the fun part, grab the right side tool and pull it to the right, and pull the left side tool to the left. So what you are doing is pulling the tools away from each other. If you've get someone to give you a hand get them to pull the deck out at the same time. Or if doing it solo, keep sidewards pressure on the tools and pull at the same time in a wiggling motion. I've done it many a time on my own this way and it worked. Hope that helps.

I think, 4 pins into dash, two on each side of stereo then pull.
