That's nuts! 1000hp with a little over 1000kgs! And more power if you wanna pay more! I hope the brakes are exceptional!

Nice, but I still prefer the Hennessey 1000 SRT10 Viper.. Ahhh now if only I could afford one!

Nice, but I'd much rather a Veyron.
This thing is going to hit many different hurdles getting to its top speed safely as the veyron did, I'd rather a car that has surpassed all aforementioned barriers.
Whatsmore, who wouldn't prefer a quad turbo W16 over a boosted LS piston slapper?

it tops out at 252, so it's not claiming to be a veyron killer.

its a concept type car.

It probably will be faster than the veyron, but I'd still rather have a veyron.
What about that little caterham that was faster around the top gear test track? Would you feel safer at speed in that or the veyron?

Veyron's fast in a straight line, but when I watched that Top Gear where Richard raced it against a McLaren F1, the F1 killed the Veyron off the line, so it led me to think that it would probably kill the Veyron on a race track that actually has some twists and turns. Where the Veyron excels, just doesn't make sense in the real world, having said that I am sure it is still relatively fast wherever you put it, just not the fastest in the world in every situation. Actually by the end of the 13 season of TG, wasn't it like 4th or 5th fastest on the TG track? As you can tell watching TG is the closest I will ever get to driving a Veyron.

Guessing the amount of R&D gone into the Hennessy would be comical compared to all the development that went into the Veyron

I will take the Veyron thanks, in White with silver highlights

The Hennessey looks the goods, lightweight - huge power plant but the end result will be a track special with little on road usage in the real world - the Veyron however in my book has the status, speed & safety packages fully tested - the Veyron would be my choice to toddle off to the shops for a litre of milk LOL - plus hey for an extra mill or so, the Brabhause tuning house will further transform the Veyron into more of a missile than it already is. :

Dont forget that the speed is listed in MPH, not Kph. I wouldn't want to be in that thing if it hit a bump!

I'm all for these sorts of cars but they shouldn't be sold to the general public. Once its on the market its only a matter of time before some dumb schmuck with more money then sense kills himself and probably someone else..

Agree 100%.

Imagine someone who currently drives a hotted up VR commodore stationwagon going off to buy the hennessy?
It could happen too, some housing commission dwellers from Macquarie Fields won 30 million on powerball a couple of years ago, and reportedly went off to buy matching new SS commodores. Then they announced they were off to Rooty Hill RSL (I know, I know; it must be a bogan thing).

Just imagine that level of stupidity behind the wheel of something that fast. If not them, then surely they'd have a son who'd test drive it and make the news. Then Harold Scruples would go into meltdown to ban anything with an engine bigger than 20cc, and the stupid governments would listen.

As for Hennessy, his cars may be crap but his XO cognac is sublime. :

Was more worried about the innocents dying but small engine capacity limits is just as important! hehe

I’m sure KPOJ has thought about it!

Lotus did a V6 turbo Exige for a wealthy customer. I think that the wheelbase was extended, I know that the driveline went from a transverse 4 cylinder to longitudinal position V6.

Mallet also do their V8 Solstice if you are feeling brave and have won lotto, Bristol have their 1000bhp Lightning V10 if you are more refined.

Seems a great thing, and worthy to be compared to the GT, on paper at least.

It beats me how the topic turned to lotto winning bogans and scrubyism?

Oh wait.... I get it, only old money toffs, who drink expensive cat urine can be trusted with such a vehicle,..

Not really - just an example in relation to my first post - then a joke.

on a side note - i wonder what the driveability of this thing would be like.. Absolutely terrifying in the wet but on a nice day.. hmm

That car is nothing compared to a Veyron. Anyone can cram a larger engine into an existing car, big deal.

I hate to be nitpicky (no I don't...) but that statement is utter bollocks. And in saying that, I hate Hennessey.

is there an option in the GPS to avoid speed humps :togo: , fun on the track no doubt, useless in the burbs, no contender to Veyron.

Well, thing is, the Veyron was designed from the bottom up to handle the power. The Lotus, no matter how good a lotus is, was not built from the bottom up to handle this much power. I hope at least they make it all wheel drive... I'd go the Veyron. PS the Veyron does 0 to 100kph in 2.4 seconds and a quater mile in 10.2 seconds. When you consider this is from a car that weighs 2 tonns and has all the luxury features and mod cons of a modern car, thats just amazing.
