Hi
Got mine done at True Flow Exhausts in Melton. It cost me $330 all up for a 2.5inch Redback mandral bent cat back system. Main muffler about half way along & rear resonator all straight through to tail pipe. I had a fairly new chrome 3inch twin xr8 exhaust tip which they cut off the old & welded to new exhaust. All done in about 30mins. Very happy with their work. Sounds great goes hard!!!!!
Cheers

Make sure the Redback 2.5 is mandrel bent. I opted for the rear resonator, which means no highway drone. I got mine from True Flow in Melton also.

$280 Fitted for a Redback Mandrel Bent 2.5 with rear resonator is fine!

True Flow Exhaust
85 High, Melton, VIC

I don't know if you remember how mine sounds from the cruise a few months back, but it makes a nice sound.

In fact, my brother in law's son, chose to buy an AU over a Holden, because of the way mine sounded one night when I took off from his place! LOL!

Cheers,

GK

I paid more than $280 IIRC. It's been about 3 years now, so I don't remember.

Highway drone is the sound (resonance) you get when cruising at highway speeds. It's horrible and I reckon greatly reduces the enjoyment of the drive.

The rear (small) resonator is what gets rid of it.

Most stock systems (OEM) have two mufflers, then the resonator at the rear. The sports system only has one muffler (straight through) with the resonator to stop the drone.

My new exhaust 2.5" single and pacemakers was $780 fitted, cat was fine. I have no drone with a single muffler, it is a triple flow muffler. All redbak from after cat. Healthy improvement, sounds nice and crisp with a bootful and no drone, no over run. Very happy.

I had a single 2.5 Lukey with one Lukey muffler on my old six pack AU, never had an issue with drone at all.

$280.00 is cheap.

400 fitted for the redback on my xr6, but it had IRS so just a little different. 280 is pretty good. Never had drone with mine either.

I just paid $320 for mine (not redback) delivered to my door, and I'll fir it myself. Still works out around $100 cheaper than the local exhaust shops. So $280 for a redback system I would say is good - fitting is easy on a live axle car.
