Default a change of career

Some not so great situations have risen at work and its resulting in ym currant bosses handing the bakery over to people i refuse to work for as i have past experience with them.

I dropped out of school at the age of 15 and started my baking app the very next morning and have been baking now for a lil over 4 years. I am 19 and fully qualified.

IM thinking of a change in career maybe but i dont really wanna suffer wage loss (due to car repayments bills and other living expenses.)

I am getting tired of the early morning shifts and wanna try my luck somewhere else.

can anybody suggest a new path or something? atm i would like to earn about 550+ a week. (thats a lil less than what i am on now)

My advice, stay in your job now (even though you mightn't like it) until you find something else and have secured it.

Have any mates that own building/landscaping/physical labour type businesses that could give you some work? If so maybe try them and see if there's something you can do there.

sacked by them on christmas day coz i wouldnt get into a car with them to go back to thier house coz they where drunk.
and when asked why i was sacked over the next few days getting the reply "its not your work your a good worker i just dont want to look at you"

probably best to speak to a career councilor or something. kinda sucks to loose that 4 years of training. Perhaps get into management, do some part time tafe and look for some responsibility and get payed more for it. Apply for work in bigger chains like coles or woolies and seek more there? or just change jobs http://www.seek.com.au/job/baker-ful...16783089/94/1/

or try and become a chef, somewhat relevant.. i heard they can get payed better.

if your looking to break away from the normal life routine check out the army. get payed and looked after very well, make some new mates and perhaps join a trade there and get qualified in something new.

a mate of mine recently gave up his job as a baker after becoming fully qualified apparently there is good money as a baker at supermarkets like coles or woolies, that was his plan early on in the apprenticeship was to get qualified and try and get a job in one of those places, instead hes gone and got himself a job as a body piercer, same money as he was on as a 4th year.
Otherwise hospitality is pretty easy to get into $20-$27 an hour just have to swap ya early morning work for late night

army chef?
learning trades in the army is a viable option. no experience necessary.

Well if you have your papers then pretty much anything pays more , bring process work or driving a fork will fill in for now until you can take advice and form a plan for day work and night school , good luck with the decision

Whats wrong with the local factory?
whether its milk, meat or whatever, its unskilled labour - anyone can get a job there.
Minimum youll be getting is $25 hour, most likely more.
2 days work and you have your $550 in your pocket.

Best thing you can do is get more qualifications under your belt.

Get a job doing what you know, and study part time...You reap what you sow.

I'm currently completing a bachelor of engineering part time at USQ as well as completing a degree in interior design at a college of arts...part time also...
I also work full-time as a civil designer and earning good coin for someone my age (22)...over 700 a fortnight, plus work pays for my engineering studies..

SO, Train train train and do it all while you're young!!

Oh whoops, 700ish a WEEK....Keeping in mind I'm still 'training' (Bachelor degree) that isn't too shabby...

Geez if I was on 700 a fortnight I wouldn't be a very happy camper!

Seriously dude can you hold a brush and slap on some paint....? Ring some house painters in the phone book and tell them you are a Brush hand and have been working a little over a year for [insert made up name here from a area far away] they all seriously say come to this address and start work. It's easy as no interview and a strat over the phone. Fudge your way through it and hopefully you will get a few days to a few weeks. Learn learn learn and build your experience. You may go through a dozen employers till you get a fudgeable nack at what your doing then you just build on it.

You got your bakers whites.... just splash some paint on them so you look leigit when you start.... you got a phone.... what are you waiting for ?

I was in the trade for over 15 years and the amount of blokes who turned up claiming to be a tradie in their bakers whites was unbelievable....

Best bet is you'll get $20-30hr.
