Production has stopped and production workers have been stood down until Monday due to a supplier issue. A small component in the aircon unit is faulty, not know how many cars have been built that are affected

The problem is a faulty 20c component within the HIM. EVERY Falcon and Territory since November is affected (that's roughly 15000 cars). Takes upto 4 hours to replace the faulty part as the dash needs to be removed. I smell alot of bad publicity for Ford

I'm sure there will be some who will do sloppy work, hopefully Ford will have ways of avoiding that happening. Otherwise its not an issue really, as long as they have a good long term fix for the problem. |

Seeing as they have quite a number of vehicles to repair it would be better if they had a crew that just went to dealerships and specialised in this repair only, not letting any technicians learn on the job. The crew would know it backwards and do the job in half the time without damaging interiors etc.

Yes had a mate with a brand new top of the line VP Calais at the time, had warranty work that needed his dash removed, needles to say it went pear shaped quicky with more rattles afterwards and dirty marks, scratches and gouges from the removing / installing part on other interior components. Took him about 3 months but he finally got it sorted when HQ had a talk to the dealer prinicple.
