Default Mufflers

what is everyone running and are you happy? I would like to try a Hooker muffler but i am unsure. Maybe a poll would be good.

Hooker Aerochamber

Stainless or mild and what offsets, straight throughs, centre to offset or offset to offset, multi chamber, triple flow and if possible get some sounds up.

I liked Lukey ones (Walker I think).
I have a 3 inch straight through 14 inch muffler on the rear of mine, I think its magnaflow, and it sounds great.

I favour Redback 2.5 mandrel bent items. Love the note it gives the manual I6!

The wagon has a hybrid 1/2 Magnaflow 1/2 Redback and I wish I'd gone the whole Redback.

Love the note from the 2.5" Redback on my EB2 I6.

The lukeys on my AU have a real nice gurgle in the mid range but are abit quiet on idle and the top end is too much of a high pitch scream - this may be due to the fact the exhaust is relatively small for the car.

I want to go Dual 2.25" with 1 muffler each side.

does extractors make the car any louder on a 5L? i have a hotdog in the middle on a 2.5" pipe then into 2 2 1/4 each side with 1 muffler on each, unsure on what brand they are. id like to get the hotdog taken out but later on i am not sure if it will be to loud with extractors. i dont mind the loudness but i dont want to kill my dogs ears when he's in the tray with the canopy

And BTW my XR6 sounds the goods with the system thats in my sig. but i dont drive it anymore

I have a Cobra Performance system on mine, it's only a 2.5" single muffler and is pretty obnoxious at times when you get up it (sounds great though) but does not drone and has a really nice idle. Bloke next door has a Boss not sure of exhaust but it has a similar tone to mine.

Mine has the Lukey style muffler and it sounds mean!

I have a 2 1/2" twin to 3" single from the cats back and just the one lukey muffler on my AU2 XR8.

when i upgrade my system to stainless (the way to go) i will get a new lukey to go with it because im THAT happy with the sound it makes.

I wanted to know what a aerochamber would sound like on a six. I have heard plenty of eights with some nice zausts, hookers, gonzo's etc. My current is the redback 2.5" and a single triple flow muffler and 3.5 inch stainless dump. At idle its quite enough and sounds good when up it, no drone on highway, slight drone at 50-60 depending on gear. I am looking for a meatier sound at idle. Not something i loose sleep over.
