I have just noticed a issue with the front left speaker. It will happen regardless of whether the radio is on or off. It basically whistles or makes a hi-pitch whine noise at idle. It gets higher pitched if I rev from idle up to about 2000rpm after which point it goes away but will then return when the engine returns to idle.
It will not to do all the time but is rather a intermittant problem. Completely stock & untouched AU1 premium sound (with the stacker in the boot, not in-dash). Any help would be much appreciated.

Yeah I get it on my aftermarket up to whatever RPM I do.
Gets higher pitched the more RPM you do, almost sounds like a turbo spooling up.

I guess it can't hurt to clean up the groundings first.

It's not that it goes away it's just that the frequency goes too high for you to hear it. I'd hate to be a dog in the back seat though. Bushbasher

In older cars the cause of this problem was often the suppressor mounted to the alternator. I can't say that I've poked around the alternator of an AU all that closely so I don't know if they still mount them there, but it could be worth a look...

There's a product produced for Amps that have this issue, worked wonders for my car and this problem. I think its a product called "Scorpion", I got it from Wow. I'll see if I can find where it is tomorrow.

I reckon the speaker needs to be replaced.

I had exactly the same problem as you guys. It was such an annoying noise. I ended up grounding it somewhere else and the noise stopped so check your grounding before spending the mulah.
