Although I think that you will need to go to ford to get it programed for your car? Or is it different to the ba's

You can pick on up second hand, but you will need to go to ford to have it reprogrammed to suit (they are coded to the ecu).
It doesn't cost much to have it done, but the only point is the car won't start till it is done. Cheers

if you dont want to tow your AU3 XR8 to the local ford dealer after installing the new BEM/BCM, drive to your closest ford dealer first, park where they can get to it, then remove the old BCM, put the new one in (there is a screw at the bottom of the dash where it's held in), then get them to program it.... to replace it, i can do it in an EL and AU in 4 mins max... its too easy..

Thanks everyone for their advice, I will take it all onboard. I'm only about 1km from my local Ford dealership, so at least they are handy.

I believe you can actually get an aftermarket one - but it is actually a refurbished factory one. I have tracked down one for a VR Senator through work.
