Default Dirtbags! Someone painted my GF's car

Well having just come in from a lovely 3-4 hours washing and polishing my girlfriends car (Mazda) because some scumbag painted 2 lines (looks like posca pen) on both sides from the front quaters to the rear hatch, i thought I'd come on here and vent.

Its all come off after some elbow grease but what a hassle, GF is now driving the XR8 to work (last time she had it for two days for a total of two guttered rims, she didn't recall it happening of course ) and I'm stuck with the Mazda for the day.

I can't believe the turds would do that, it's not even like some sort of personal thing, the car was parked at her sisters 45 minutes away. It has made me realise 3 things.

1. I wish I caught someone doing this, man I wish I caught them.

2. I'm glad I don't have to drive on the ring road every day cause man it is hard on cars, this thing is only 12 months old and riddled with little stone chips.

3. The paint on a modern mazda must be measured in microns, cause the it's hard to see the depressions where the stone chips are and you can only just feel it with your fingernail, can't really polish anything but the slightest marks out of it.

make that 4

4. Man I wish i caught them

Bought back memories of when i was 19 with my pride and joy EF XR6 that got badged repeatedly cause I had to park it on the road as I was living at home with oldies. Was up one night reading and heard the distinct "ping" of a tickford badge coming off a panel, flew out the front and saw the kid running off. He had about a 200m head start, chased him for about 500 untill he went through a park, two options on the other side and I took the wrong one so he got away.

Long walk home barefoot and in my jocks at about 1am, at least my car never got badged again.

anyway GRRRHHHH, I hate people tampering with cars.

That absolutely sucks. Atleast the car came up looking good after a polish!

Lol, exactly. Not forgetting the rebadged 323s/Lasers, 626s/Telstars etc that were Mazdas underneath.

My missus drives a Swift at the moment, and wants a VT for her next car, I can't convince her to get a Falcon, so oh well looks like a VT shall be in my family in the near future

I saw a Seinfeld episode on this, although it was about a PEZ dispenser.
What you need to do is the pre-emptive break up. When she begs you not to leave her then make it conditional that she gets a ford. Problem solved.
What could possibly go wrong, I've seen that episode atleast 15 times and every time the woman goes back to George with "hand". 15 out of 15; that's a 100% success rate!

Tell me about it, I tried to get her to get a fiesta, (rebadged mazda?, they certainly look the same) but pushing the preverbial up hill. Her mother drives a Mazda 6, her father drives a Mazda 3 SP25 (not a bad car actually, just missing 4 cylinders and driving the wrong end) sisters got a Mazda. They are the poster family for Mazda.

The ford brainwashing will take a little more time, I think her father has driven nothing but mazda's since 1984. I'm sure I'll get there in the end. At least she likes driving the BA. Next upgrade I'll push her into an XR5 turbo or something

Could be wrong, but I think Ford has just reduced their share in Mazda to 5%.

Sorry about the car man, Mazda or otherwise. It's disgraceful the way people have no respect for another's belongings.

Welcome to Australia mate; founded by criminals and lately run completely by criminals whose only purpose is to protect other criminals. Had you have caught them most likely you'd be up on charges whilst these little bastards get to walk free. It's despicable.

Ah the joys of living in the middle of nowhere. If anyone wanted to touch my car, theyd have to walk uphill along a long windy dirt road, then actually have to find it in the dark (since thats the only time its home). Then if they manage to do it, then theyd be meeting my mate Mr Crowbar. So it would have to be a very rewarding experience for them

But its very relieving you got the stains off, if you didnt id be out for blood.

Yeah, I think I'm gen Y too???? when's the cutoff?? I was born in 83??
So can't really just blame a whole generation

Although if that talking about your generation show is anything to go by I definitely identify with the gen X's more.

At least I pray to god that Josh Thomas is not the poster boy for my generation.

Chasing a car tamperer is a bad idea, at least in the UK my old man's mate got stabbed confronting a car thief, he was tampering under the steering wheel "OI" grabs him, screw driver in the gut.

Chasing sum one debadging also a bad idea for the same reason.

little bit of info for those game enough:
In my experience if there is some one in your car or indeed any car and they wish to harm you while your standing outside the car, as soon as the other party puts one foot out the car BOOT the door.

A. youve broke their leg

B. Most women put both feet out then bum out, guys on the other hand go leg, upper body/ head out of the car so time it right and you might get a KO

It works trust me

This sort of stuff has been happening for years. Not that I condone it. I say bring back, where a copper or parent/s could give the culprits a good swift clipping, without fear of repriasals.
