Default Problem With SS CAI

i have tryed to install the ss snorkel on my AU XR8 and it seems it doesnt want to fit properly. when i try to squueze it in through to the airbox, it just rubs against the belt on the car. after looking at the snorkel closely i found the part number cai008 on it. on the package it says the part number is cai009. can anyone with a ss kit please tell me if theres was a tight fit and if they have the same or different part number on there kit.
cheers
chris

Sound slike you have the one for the 6 instead of the V8 - there's a slight difference, apparently.

on the package it says cai009 for AU XR6/XR8. just looking at the bigger inlet for the airbox it has cai008/2 on it as well.

Have you cut the bigger hole into the side of the airbox to fit the new snorkel? You might have cut it a bit too far up towards the back of it?
