Default Would a bit of history help sell/increase value.

The missus is thinking of selling her 2000 build Tickford xr8 and getting a Territory.
Would the fact that the car was used in the making of an Australian movie increase its value or not?
We have the docs to prove this and I did contact the movie company to confirm. Unfortunately the scenes of the car ended on the cutting room floor.

About the only thing it will influence is a half a second eyebrow movement from the prospective buyer

Doubt it. Seen II a million times. Cant remember an AU XR8.

A 'lane limo, 2 stocko falcons, a Patrol, & a statesman or two & 2 triumphs. A daytona 955 & a speed triple (basically a daytona without the fairing)

The movie was 'The Hard Word' with Guy Pearce,Rachel Griffiths,Joel Edgerton,Damien Richardson,Vince Colosimo and Kym Gyngell.
Just your basic cops and robbers and double/triple cross between three brothers the lawyer and other crims. Filmed mainly in Melbourne.
Released on 30/5/2002 by Roadshow.

Pretty much what I was thinking but would hate to have not asked and then found out it might have.

I could only see it being a factor if the car actually featured in the movie.. if all of the footage of the car never made it into the movie, there's no real nostalgia of a prospective owner seeing Guy Pearce's butt parked in their soon to be car immortalised in a movie.

I only watched 'The Hard Word' last week. Trying to remember an AU XR8.

I remember an AU2 Forte police car and a VX Executive & Calais, but not an XR8. What scene was it in?

Sorry mate, missed that.

I don't think it would help too much. The guy trying to sell his BA GT-P that was in the movie 'The Chase is On' hasn't had much luck in selling his car.

Maybe if it was the main car on a movie like Gone in 60 seconds or Gran Torino it would be worthwhile.

good movie that one but not really a classic or old enough to have a cult following but normally i would say put it in the ad that it was in it but since it was cut that sort means it wasn't in the movie actually so the person who pays an extra K for the novelty factor are gonna be annoyed when they see that movie and see well its not in it.

Some guy had a BMW 8 Series for sale last year claiming it was the one used in Underbelly. The price was normal for the car with its age and condition.
I think some people just use it as an extra selling point.
