Default Protex rotors

i've found some rotors on an ebay shop and their protex rotors.
worth getting them or just go some RDA's because they're a proven brand?

Ive had Protex Rotors before. They are fine mate.

I had just standard ones on my old EB XR8 combined with Bendix Ultimates and they held up well with spirited hills runs. The key is choosing the correct brake pad to suit your driving style. The rotor as long as its not under sized will work fine.

My RDA's are due for replacement soon. But they have been the best value rotor Ive had by far based on how I drive.

Speak to Matt at Race Brakes Sydney (site sponsor) for his opinion and if he can match the price advertised. He has always done right by me in the past and he always has good deals.

Bloody crap IMO. All 4 of mine are warped and they wont replace them or even answer my calls any more.

Oh i have done about 4,000km on them.

Well I kept warping DBA5000, so got sick of spending big dollars to replace them, so am just using Protex ones on both my cars, no complaints yet and the TS did 2 track days on them without cracking or warping.

I've had on my S1 before and I agree with BeerBaron bloody crap.

So far I've been running QFM pads with RDA slotteds not a problem.

You just have to find what works for you for me I found these rotors warped very easily and I got bugger all life out of them.

sounds like a mixed bag of results. I found the key is making sure correct pad choice and proper bedding in procedure is critical.

i think because alot of the time there will be alot of hard driving. i'll go with at least RDA because they work well.
and spot on shav. good pads and good bedding in procedure

I wouldnt skimp out on brake choice Damien. Good brakes gives you better confidence in the hills if you ask me. My RDA's combined with QFM HPX (550deg) pads are an excellent combo for what I do. But next time I need to replace the rotors, Im thinking of going DBA 4000 series and QFM A1RM (780deg) pads. Higher dust rate yes, but superior braking.

I would also consider some braided lines and Dot 5 fluid mate. I did the braided lines on my car and its made wonders to hills driving. Heaps less brake fade and better brake feel even on real heavy runs. The Dot 5 fluid is just added precaution to reduce the brake fluid from boiling and becoming useless. Again, adds to your confidence in braking ability.
