I'm in the market for a G6E and would like a late 2010 model.
Am I right in thinking that the release of the Mk2 FG's will mean an immediate drop in the price of s/h Mk1's? Also, as I'm not desperate, would I be better off waiting till the new year? (ie a 2010 model becomes "2" years old instead of "1" year old.) For $2K I'll just get one now but $3K or better is worth the wait. Any insights into likely outcomes? Cheers... |

Go hunting, there will be the odd demo often with 0 km if it is a 2010.
Of course you will have to take what you are offered with regard to options and colours. |

Oh, I've been hunting. There's enough around from which to choose.
I'm wondering if they'll be significantly cheaper following Mk2 and the new year? |

If you can hold off then its certainly not going to hurt you. Too hard to put an exact $$$ on it though.
From the release pics the FG1's are arguably better looking, even so, late FG1's will be a good buy. |

You might be lucky but a lot of G6Es are built to order and not many in stock,
a dealer may have to hunt up a car at another dealership for you but try it anyway... |

I doubt they will go significantly cheaper when the new model hits, the new models just a facelift and maybe a few more gizmos.
Look at the release of the Coyote S/C engine range in the FPV's, it's release didnt kill the prices of the Boss 5.4 previous models values anywhere near as badly as I and many others expected, and the Coyote S/C setup is leaps and bounds ahead of the 5.4 Boss engines. Id expect the new model version of what your looking at will have the same powertrain setup as this model with maybe a tiny bit more power at best.. Hardly anything groundbreaking or worth writing home about to warrant a big devalue of the current ones.

Are we save as a country or world regarding financial situation 12 months time, we could all be flat broke riding 10 speed pushbikes,or living it up driving beemers, sitting in our 15 bedroom waterfront houses (Bit severe examples) I wouldnt be rushing out for huge debt or increasing a debt |

So, just to close this off, I've put a holding deposit on a 50th Anniversary G6E.
Pick it up tomorrow. Woohoo! |

In any event managed a 2500km "used" one at a lot less than the quoted new prices on car sales. The bad news is I can't get away from work today so will have to wait until tomorrow to pick up :( |
