I need to have a rant. For some reason, it really annoys me seeing unrelated or misguided number plates and/or badges on cars. Here is just a few examples I have seen in the last two weeks.
1. FG G6E with a BF II GHIA badge on the boot. 2. VE SV6 Wagon, nice green one with a FPV limited edition number plates... Also the plate read "TUHOE1" I still don't get it 3. A VE V Commodore that had a new VE "Series II" badge on the boot. 4. VU commodore ute "S" pac with the ECOTEC engine. SS badges were put on and "GENIII V8" badge under the side indicators. I work with this bloke and asked him why, answer was "it looks sick" 5. Alloytec V6 badge on a VT 6. Any commodore that has a chev badge that doesn't have a V8. Anyway, that is my vent for the moment. As you can see, it is mainly Holden drivers.

Or the name change acompanied by a massive marketing campaign. Just watch your average punter when you dicuss a G6. Then say Fairmont and watch them say ahhh as the penny drops.

To keep on topic I would like to tell everyone how much it fails when people have Chev badges on Commodores, but in particular, VS Commodores, you know, the blue Chev badge with the chrome ring around it...

I would put Ghia badges on a FG. People ask what is a G6 or G6E and I tell them it is what used to be Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia. Plus I would put Typhoon and Tornado badges on the FG FPV F6 models. |

But with G6 and G6E, they got rid of the Fairmont badges altogether. I could've lived with Ford calling it a "Fairmont G6" or a "Fairmont G6E".

On this topic though, my mates old man bought an AUII XR8 new, then got a '200' sticker made for the rear corner of the boot like the HSVs, to represent the engine's kilowatt output. Lame. |

Huh...anyone would think putting Chev badges on Holdens was a new thing...I've got one of these in the shed myself in a box somewhere...
Of course the difference is that it actually meant something way back then and wasn't just for a **** factor... |

Someone told me to put Gilmor belt drives (apparently gives a whine like a charger) in my XR8, i replied with "why would i spend money to pretend ive got something i dont?" He says back "but people will line up with you at the lights and think its tough" he is another oxygen thief of the world.

A GM badge would be more applicable if people want to show their allegiance to America.

Yes its been overdone, but it is the same company.. and guys used to do it in the 70's too when they put a Chev motor in. The V6 is a GM engine too after all. |

Lol like this?
The "tuhoe1" plate sounds like a name of a football player? |
