Was just talking about this in another thread and thought it would be a fun idea to see what kind of stuff people have found behind the seats or in the glove box of their car....left over from their previous owner 30+ years ago or even more recently!!

A little black book resided under the rear seat squab in my XF. This was in 1995 so I wasn't able to make much use of it

Actually found a pair of very nice expensive pliers under my bonnet of my old Verada. Im assuming they where the mechanics as its a one owner car. Scary thing was they had been there for some time, (years) as they where covered in that much grime.

An exporter I know in Long Beach told me a pick-up was sent to Norway from Florida and when it was inspected at it's destination, the Norwegian Customs found a live alligator behind the seat. |

Under the back seat of the coupe i found a plastic toy indian & soldier that belonged to the son of the original owner.
As i keep in contact with him i called round to his place & gave them to him as a momento of his childhood. |

I found a large quantity of live amunition under the seats of an 2dr LJ Torana. I also phoned the number scratched into the inside of the glovebox lid of my Cortina - the lady refused to elaborate, but begged me not to call again or tell her husband! I found this interesting, meh.

early 70's (Show my age) Full page adverts for movies there were six of them all carefully rolled, no creases. Sold the lot in '77 for $350.
Another car had the skeletons of 2 cats long long dead and no smell under the back seat. 3 months after me grandad died I was given the keys to his old Vauxhall. Unfortunately no one had checked it out cause he had gone fishing the morning he passed away and hells bells you knew what was in the boot.

$50, a mr potato head hand and saltanas!! Damn the saltanas!!!
Had my car for over 18 months now an they are still turning up. I dont have kids and rarely have passengers. The old owners (close friends) had two young children and i swear they lost nearly a kilo of saltanas back there. Ive replaced the seats with different ones yet somehow the saltanas keep on coming |

I got excited when I found 2 pay packets unopened under the rear seat of one of the old cars ..... Unfortunatley in 1980 wages were extrememly low. Grand total of $32.00 and some change. Some poor part timer lost there Coles after school pay!

When stripping out a mates XW, in about 1991, we found a complete newspaper under the rear seat.... Headline.... ELVIS IS DEAD. Unfortunatley, there was no mention of the mouse in the headlining who also died around the same time.
That would explain the smell.

We bought a 4wd Pathfinder and found about $50 in change and the corner of a $100 note. We pulled the interior out to rust treat it and vacuum all the sand out, but didn't find the rest of the note.
But ewwww at finding cat skeletons. |
