Default Brake Light / Electrical Issues

Hi All,
I am having a issue with my lights / Brake lights on my 2000 Model AU Falcon Forte . When the lights (driving & headlight) are of and i tap the brake, teh brake lights come on, but it also turns on the driving lights & dash lights . If i turn the headlights on, the brake lights come on and stay on, so applying brakes makes no change to lights ... any ideas what can be causing this ??...It getting dangerous to drive at nights , as people dont know when im braking now

any help ,or direction to what to look for would be appreciATED

thanks
GTJOHN

Default Re: Brake Light / Electrical Issues

i would first try and look for a dodgy brake light globe,

replace both of yours
sometimes the brake filament in the globe can arc out with the parker filament,
this sends power to both circuits at the same time.

Hi. Or if a brake/tail light globe has been changed make sure it is a dual contact / dual filament globe. Cheers MD
