love the way they associate these clowns with drink drivers. yet another hoon bashing sensationalism.
I dont agree with these clowns doing it on the street, and I dont agree with ACA making the association between these fools and legitimate motor sport

There was no association with legitimate motorsport. The suggestion was more along the lines that if these morons want to drift, there are race tracke to accomodate their pastime.

Put these nitwits in a race car (drift, V8SC, production sedan, speedway supersedan or sprintcar) in competition, in front of a paying crowd and they would look like a complete fool...likely end up craping themselves.

Speaking of getting fired up at the TV, my niave housemates decides tonight to drop a "Bullllsh****t" during the FPV ad when they mention the XY GT being a legend.
My god did he cop it after that one!

ACA really need to find something worth talking about.... like someones disgruntled neighbour, or how to save .7c on your food bill.

Saw the story just before. Nothing new here, basicly ACA are just doing a name and shame over one particular person who loves to hoon. This isn't the last of one of these stories they'll be doing.

You can always tell when there is nothing newsworthy to report. They'll do stories on "hoons" featuring morons that happen to own a car and do stupid things in them, OR, they do stories on botched boob jobs or "the best bra for your boobs".

I'd just like to prefix this with the fact that I don't condone any of this type of behaviour.

I just watched this. A few things that got my back up...
Clearly they don't understand the skills required to drive a car like that. Out of control my rear end.
Trying to make it sound terrible that they picked a busy roundabout. Pity it's dead at night.
Saying he was frantically grabbing at the wheel and handbrake, he looked quite composed to me.
Then linking a drink driving death in there... crikey

A few of my mates do drifting at tracks and it takes years and lots of practice to be as good as the guy on ACA, I was think the same as you mate he was in control of the car imo

Gotta agree there. Talk about clutching at straws to make them look as bad as possible. Typical

I agree with all your comments and ACA should stick to reporting on which dish washing detergent gives you the best value for money but these guys are real idiots
if they hit a pole and kill thems selves thats one thing but it's when the mame or kill an innocent party that really gets me angry

Things can happen that are so unexpected that in a split second you ruin lives.

Unfortunatley this happened to me 6 months after I got my license
I wasn't hooning just driving home from work and I was involved in a road fatality
You think it's never think its going happen to you
while you may be in control of your car, you can't control what's going on around you
Driving the way these guys do means that if something unexpected happens they greatly increase the probability of a very bad outcome

ACA do stories like this, so forum lerkers have something to talk about.....

It's obviously a slow news day, so it's something to fill in tme

Maybe my views are a bit over the top but IMO the sooner these fools wrap themselves around a tree or power pole, the better it will be for all other road users. What makes them think they can use public roads for their own super risky entertainment.

That's a little extreme i'd say.
If they can afford the entry to get onto a track, get the need for speed out in that environment, and be sensible on public roads that would be better. No death required....but then what would ACA talk about when Hoons need another media bashing?

Yawn! Just watched the video, ACA at their absolute finest....

Was it about speeding, burnouts, drifting or drink driving?
Or is it all the same thing?

Oh no, we've exported Super Hoons to Hungary: http://video.carsguide.com.au/224836...rift-flash-mob
A Current Affair can send a reporter to follow it up.

It's not a matter of if so many were killed. Motor sports requires the use of bariers. Where's the barrier.....just in case. Safety is NOT about doing something after something goes wromg. Safety is all about doing something in case of accident. If one of those drivers lost the control of their vehicles and speared of into the crowd, someone WOULD have suffered an injury. So, that might mean putting up barriers, or not having the demonstration where crowds can stand right at the edge. That what racetracks were made for. That's why safety has improved at racetracks ... to keep cars away from spectators. That's why there are safety regulations on the streets ... to keep "hoons" away from the public.

Want to drift? Fine. Man up, build a drifter and hit the track where the world can see your skills. Don't e a flamin' dope and risk the safety of inocent people.
