Hello All,
I've managed to get a set of Street ET's 235/60/R15 under the guards of a TC Cortina. I've never raced on these tyres before and have been told to start at 20 lbs pressure and work down to about no lower than 15lbs. The motor is a midly worked Clevo. Any suggestions on tyre pressure would be appreciated. Cheers. |

Yep start at 20 but I wouldn't go lower than 18 . Many I know run 19-20 psi . Under 17psi I found I would turn the tyres more out of the hole

My setup might be a little weird when compared because I run mine at 22-24psi and I haven't had a single issue with them there. Its odd as same day and same tyre size people have had issues. So its got me buggered, Its managed a best 60ft of 1.52 of the foot brake so i wont exactly complain yet.

I get the feeling too many people run too little psi in them treating them like a true slick , thus losing traction and complaining they arent good enough .

18PSI here
400Hp 435 foot/pounds of torque in a VH Commodore with 255/60/15 but have also run 235/60/15 with no traction problems Last edited by Ivan; 22-07-2012 at 07:01 PM. |

ET STREET RADIAL On the racetrack DO NOT use starting pressures below 11 psi. Recommend pressures for: P295 and larger sizes: 12-16 psi P275 and smaller sizes: 14-18 psi On the highway we recommend running 75% -100% of maximum psi stated on the sidewall of the tire. This will vary depending on the weight of the vehicle. |

Check out Mickey Thompsons website for a list of recommendations for your car, for the weight and for the tyre you use and what pressures to use.
MY car is an XE falcon, 1650kg with me in it. running 275/50/15 Et street radials and 15 psi. I found a bit of a bigger burnout to be perfect for take off for me. Leave the line about 8-10 psi boost and car makes 550+ hp at the wheels. No issues although I suspect the bigger burnout whilst getting more heat into them also increases the pressure somewhat. It's a compromise of what you want out of the car, your suspension, how much your willing to squat, turn the tyres and how much you want to waste per meet. we got 275's put in 17psi do a smallish burnout 2-3 seconds after starts smoking, bout 1500kg, 17-18psi boost, 5500rpm (leaving the line with maybe close to 600rwhp) at the end of the run tyre pressure is around 18psi.
