Karmann Ghia as the daddy of Porsche? Isn't it more the ugly younger step-sister to the 356?
A friend was telling me that they had a bit of a reputation as a car for blokes who like blokes back in the 70's. He HATED driving his wife's one around when she wasn't in the car.

I'm ashamed nobody knew...it's a Karmann Ghia.
They were nothing to do with Porsche...they were a styling offshoot from Volkswagen. Not that rare and they do pop up now and then for sale. They're worth a fair bit now. You can see another one in the end of the second "Kill Bill" movie when The Bride is going to kill Bill at the hotel. |
