Default Au lux interiors

Hey guys I was just wondering what the diffrences are between a fairlane interior and a fairlane spotsman I think it was interior and also what did the ltd have over the others.

And is a fairmont ghia interior same as a fairlane or ltd

My mate has a written of fairlane but I know his interior is a nix and match of all sorts but it's really nice all together just wondering what the difference was between all of them.

Sportsman had Howe leather seats, the same material as the LTD, but LTD only comes in grey. Sportsman also had momo steering wheel, normal Fairlane did not.

Fairmont Ghia and Fairlane Ghia interior are basically the same.

LTD also had darker woodgrain, and came with woodgrain electric window switches, instead of the black ones.

AU Millennium Fairlane had that bit.
I purchased one from Ford years ago.. They didn't have many left.

While Fairmont Ghia and Fairlane Ghia interiors are similar, the rear seat is different. Fairlane has bigger side bolsters and has seperate headrests while Fairmont Ghia headrests are integrated into the seat.

Some AU Fairlanes and TL50s (guessing the earlier ones) also had an interesting trick with the front doortrims. The triangular armrests were hinged with a pair of small storage compartments underneath.

They'd be great. If only there were repro hinges around, I know the cutout is in the back for them.

My AU2 Fairlane 75th doesn't have those folding door pocket thingies, but I saw a T2 TL50 that did. It appeared to be very random!

From what i've seen, it seemed to be only S1 Ghia/LTD, but was in all TL50's..

Actually if Stu sees this, he may be able to tell is if he has them in his S2 LTD..

Yes, LTD has them - made Ray very envious!

LTD S2 also has woodgrain on the:
Window buttons as described above,
light switch
unique LTD steering wheel
rear of centre console around console vents and light
rear centre fold down arm rest cup holders
around the stereo and satnav unit

Also above, it has the Howe leather seats in Light Graphite colour with the LTD logo stitched in.

Another, that I just though of, is the engine bay is painted in body colour. I have only seen white AUs with a lesser quality white painted in the engine bay. I would be also keen to hear if any of the Lane range has a body coloured engine bay - with normal exterior shine?

Stu
