To those who rubbish the price.
Lets see, its got 3ks on it. A brand new BF LTD? Worth it there if you wanted to drive it. Its the last LTD built. Ah news flash, look at the most desirable collectable cars. All wanted because there is bugger all of them & no-one cared for them at the time. All now fetch crazy prices years on...... Maybe not this early. But the time will come.

Not yet, but that's what they said about all the coupes and gear 40 years ago imagine if you pulled a coupe (even a Fairmont )in that condition out now .. buy it put it away for your kids and let them fight over it in 30 years

I remember when Ford auctioned the last Fairlane for charity, it got less than the RRP.

It Is a beautiful car and well worth the asking price. Anybody else got an LTD in the best possible colour combo with 3km on it. Good luck to the owner.

Would you rather a GT RSpec or a BF LTD? A TL50? EBGT? BF Cobra? So many more at that price ...... if it was going to be driven as a daily. I would feel better buying one with a few K's. If someone has lots of money and wants a talking point of interest, then it may be worth it for that person.

I personally think that the day will come when some of the Fairlanes and LTDs will become collector vehicles in the future. I base my opinion on the fact that there were far less built than their Falcon cousins and these models tended to have all the extra features (Leather, AC, 8 Track Player) as well as a few extra feet of bodywork. The Fairlane line up has a colourful history and for the most part were just beautiful to "drive" and to "cruise" around in. Both features attract weekend leisure drivers for club get togethers. Some Fairlanes have interesting stories (many were used by embassies or were ministerial fleet vehicles).
My favourite Fairlanes would be the ZD and ZH Fairlanes. I also really love the 72 Galaxie LTD, built in Australia from US design. I believe it was after Ford discontinued the Galaxie that the LTD badge moved over to the Fairlane. Not too sure here maybe someone can correct me otherwise. As to the 2007 LTD being a collectors item - well - if any car could do it, this one has a good head start being that it only has 3K on it, but "luxury features" fall way behind performance features for current Australian collectors. For all I know, maybe we should all be collecting the Ford Ka.

P5 LTD ..... the first Australian LTD. Totally love them. I would classify them as collectible but not worth much in comparison to what they were worth new and are now 40 years old. For the BF LTD to be bought at 75k and then locked away for 40 years would be a sound investment?

75k isn't that much higher than what they were worth new.
I wouldn't mind having it though |

Yeah for $75K I'd certainly be buying something else such as a GT RSPEC.
But hey who knows, in 20 years time it may be worth something? Personally I can't see it though as it's not a 'special' model.

If I bought that, I'd drive the crap out of it, fat chance it would be worth even half of what he's asking in even 12 months after you bought it.

You don't buy for the investment , inflation takes care of that ...but its probably worth it on the grounds its done nothing and the last one ...just don't drive it

Hmmm, ad says "call Ron", workshop looks familiar , wonder if its owned by dealer principle Ron McInerney?
Read a bit further, cars located in Scarborough, could be at Lynfords.

For all intents & purposes, it's practically a new LTD, so 75k is justified IMO.
If I had the money, I'd pay it. Not as an investment, moreso just to say I own the last one. |
