Saw this news story today, that petrol is spiking up to $1.65 a litre. My local servos are still down around $1.45, so who knows. We were warned of a jump to $1.70 the other week. I just got some 100 octane for $1.63.
Story here: http://www.news.com.au/national-news...-1226683866103 I found this table quite interesting too: Wonder what the relative pay packets are like in Turkey and Norway.

The average Australian drives a lot more than the average European, due to our cities being so sprawled and our philosophy on expansion results in urban sprawling to try and keep the Aussie back yard dream alive.
A lot of European cities are more compressed and also a lot closer together. Plus public transport is far superior, so the need to drive is a lot lower. So paying over $2 per litre in Europe is not really that bad. However as were a lot more reliant on driving, the impact or rising petrol prices is far greater.

Yes servos in Clayton are up at 1.60. I payed 1.57 for my 95. If ever there was a compelling reason to go LPG, this is it.

The 86 is pretty good on fuel so far. I can easily get it below 7L/100km. Most of the time it's above that though. heh. |

The last rise in Sydney (friday 19th) was a bit more interesting than usual. We were warned a few days out, Coles and Woolies jumped on cue. BP, 7/11 and United held out over the weekend. I saw a BP or 2 and 7/11 rise on Monday/Tuesday, United example still at $1.41 for E10. So....witnessed a Coles Shell on $1.62 for 5 days whilst united was at $1.41, detecting a real shift in the Sydney pricing strategy.

They're not cheaper when the injectors and pump fail mate....I heard Nissan Navara pumps and injectors are made in Thailand...And I've seen a few Navaras blowing out black smoke too lately.....when they get older all sorts of problems will arise !

Navara's are cheaper than Hiluxs for a reason AND I heard from my brothers mate that has one that they need clutches replaced every 30,000k's and that was straight from a Nissan dealer workshop mechanic!

No, no, no, they're not. Rather pay for petrol than deal with maintainance costs and issues with a diesel.

LPG is better than LNG because you don not need huge tanks to store the fuel.. The European 'JTG' system uses a donut tank design that fits where the spare wheel goes. Check out the diagram on the lower part of the page on this website!
http://www.australianlpgwarehouse.co...Injection.aspx Heres a Western Australian company that also do LPG conversions. http://www.liquidlpg.com.au/ Last edited by GASWAGON; 25-07-2013 at 08:24 AM. |

Good chart Dauphin - would like to see the same one showing the tax per litre compared to total cost per litre. Every time fuel goes up the tax component goes up as well and we still have roads that are worse than under developed countries here in Central Queensland.
