Hi all,
I'm new here and recently signed up and found an absolute wealth of info about my beloved AU. I just have a quick question I was hoping someone could answer. I currently have 17 inch AU XR rims on my AU2 Fairmont, and I'm looking at upgrading to 18 inch FG XR rims. Can anyone answer a (possibly stupid) question for me as to whether these would fit my Fairmont? I'm hoping it might just be an easy swap over. Would I be looking at any issues by going to the FG rims? I currently have these: And I'm looking to upgrade to these: |

Welcome to the forum Angeles, there are no stupid questions
Wheel specs AU through FG are exactly the same. So as long as you stick with factory tyre sizes there should be no problems. Swap away. Cheers, Raptor

Welcome to the AU forums Angeles. You are correct there is a lot of information here. To help you find it use the "search' funtion at the top of the site. I did a quick search and found this http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...t=18+inch+rims which one of our members was selling his AU with 18's fitted. So it looks like yes.
Now one of the great things about this forum everyone has an opion and if I'm wrong someone will quickly post a reply. UK

just watch the overall rolling diameter doesnt increase too much,
you can type in your tyre / wheel before and after details here: http://www.willtheyfit.com The standard FG XR 245/40 R18 tyre size fits OK on AU. ps: let your insurance co know as well as it is regarded as a mod/addition.
