Hell cat has finally been tested and has ran a 10.85sec pass on decent tyres, when using the factory fitted production tyres it runs a 11.2sec pass.

Seriously quick even the 11.2 pass.
I didn't expect that at all, but then I imagine it is built for that type of racing.

Yea I think they know there market... its straight line speed. and really all you hear people compare is... Hp, 0-100/60mph and 1/4 mile times and they have covered those 3 bases well with this thing.

11.6sec is what the GT500 achieves and its quite a bit lighter (probably be quicker around a track then a Hellcat - but then the Camaro Zl1 is normally quicker around the track then a GT500, but the GT500 smashes a ZL1 in a straight line)

Just wondering how Ford will respond with rumours that the GT500 is being retired and especially seeing as the Mustang is coming down under.

They're just rumours though. There's no chance Ford will leave the game to the Hellcat and ZL1 IMO, and the rumoured GT350 is not the car to compete.

History repeats.... In 1968 Dodge offered a 10.8 second car off the showroom floor. Even came with warnings about driving it in traffic. 426 hemi with 2 x 780 holleys on tall cross ram manifold, 4-speed manual. Was a Dodge Dart special with alloy panels, around 1100kg from memory, 4 leafs on one side, 7 on the other to help counteract twist. Mag in the day put slicks on and did 10.8, or with standard tyres spun the whole 1/4 mile.... Mopar has always been 1/4 king.

I think Ford will have a reply to it, except it will go around a race track as well. They have the new flat plane crank 5.2 v8 in the wind as well as the TT DI Coyote. This will be a interesting contest.

If Ford was ever going to build a GT worthy of the HO badge, Ford had to build a car capable of matching these times. I wonder how much power the Hell Cat is putting at the rear wheels to acheive these times?

You forgot to add that Wheels will also do an exclusive on how the GTS was quicker down the quarter as well

Someone start a new thread for the Dodge Challenger please.
Guys Dodge don't have anything to do with wheels, GTF or GTS. Show some respect for the car and who ever started this thread. Has anyone heard if the hell cat may get imported either by Chrysler or a private individual when it gets released. Surely there is merrit in bringing even a limited edition in. |

Here we are debating the rear wheel kws between the GTS and the GTF, where on the other side of the world there is a car called Hell Cat running 10 second quarter miles from factory

Unlike the GT-F, at least the Dodge Hell Cat has lots of 2014 technology (unlike the dinosaur GT-F) and absolutely looks horn!

I clicked on this Thread to read about the Dodge, not to read about your personal thoughts on the Ford. You don't like the GTF and that's your choice, but please go onto a more appropriate thread and pick ya fight there. Back on topic, I hope that Chrysler Aus bring the Hell Cat or something like it to our shores one day. What a beast? |

How bout wheels mag, the gts and gtf all stay out of the thread, if you gotta compare it to something then other yank muscle cars would be a good start.

Thing is an absolute Beast. Just its late 60`s lines alone are enough, let alone the performance. Some other companies could learn a thing or two about aesthetics from this weapon. Viagra on wheels.

Gotta love technology 10.85 and you can go shopping in the thing the next day unbelievable.
It's true what he said in the video that 10sec cars were strictly race cars few years ago now you can run a 10 and do the shopping or drop the kids at school and go to work awesome i love late model power. |
