I'm about to replace the coil packs on my AUII XR8 and am looking for recommendations on which brand to get.
I know a lot of people have gone with MSD, but i've heard mixed reports on these forums. After doing some searching, some people have said they wouldn't go near them again after successive failures, while others haven't reported a problem. What is the verdict out there? Was there just a bad batch of MSDs there for a bit?

I've been running the MSD coils for over 5 years now, and have not had any problems. There have been some issues with some MSD products but I've not heard of any with the 8241 coils used on the AUs.
Not many alternatives apart from non-genuine replacements from the likes of Tridon or Fuelmiser. |

Magic, thanks Dave. Are you still making up MSD leads? And will they go straight onto the MSD coils or will I need to buy something else to make them fit the coils - have heard the coils have a different connector to the geniune item.

Yes still making them when requested. Mine will clip straight onto the AU coil packs regardless of brand, its the primary reason I make them!
