Funny ad. XB is mostly cgi except for the close ups.

Cheers.

A few shots of the car.... I actually use to own it, i sold it to them 2 months ago... man it sucks watching what they do to it...

The amount of money and time i spent on it, then they strap that rocket on the roof.. its killing me lol

Also at about 40seconds when he throws out the steering wheel out the window.... that was a GT Wheel which cost me about $1000 when i brought it they have no idea!!

Didn't actually look like they did much too it really.

The 'Jet' engine is strapped on roof racks and that's a strange looking GT steering wheel (spokes look too thin)

There will be a market for those and I reckon I would buy one.
And anyone with a red/orange XB will now be known as Captain Risky.
How funny is the pool dive!

My favourite part is where he is so preoccupied doing tricks on the dirtbike that he misses the ramp and goes through the side of the bus

Hope they didn't hurt the car too much

TV and movie people like to destroy old cars for some reason

There needs to be some sort of "Humane Association" for cars of a certain age to ensure old cars are properly cared for on set

"no classic cars were harmed in the making of this production"

The whole Ad is funny, I like the wooden man where he dose a jump kick and misses completely. I have a mate who did exactly the same thing when we were on the turps, and the whole party just ****ed themselves.

The ad is a rip off of this doco about famous stuntman Ken Carter

I was a bit horrified when I first saw the XB on that ad (it was pretty funny though) but then I watched it online carefully.

http://www.campaignbrief.com/2015/01...ces-lovea.html

I believe that action shots of that thing and the ramp it went down was digital confection. If you freeze frame it, it's form factor mid-flight appears to be briefly that of a two door coupe of some description with XB bitmap grafted on top of it.

I was still worried about him standing on the bonnet but if you look at him closely (and in particular his shadow), I suspect even then, he's standing on a step ladder just in front of the car with a cunning camera angle.

Still makes me wonder though if that's the case, why they just didn't hire somebody's car rather than buy one.

I wasn't happy about the ute though - that looked pretty real. Hopefully it was a rusted out shell and had already been parted out.

Well, need to draw your own conclusions. I suspect NOT - here's why.

Looks real enough but he's not standing on that bonnet - unless he's got some aftermarket legs or something...

Yep, that nylon load strap will definitely keep that engine in place and the roll bars (or whatever junk they've loaded into the back seat) seem right :-)

Mmmm... My XB sedan doesn't have an **** that fat or many of those panel lines either. Also, my grill is screwed on, not photo-shopped over the top.

Now THAT looks like something spawned from an XB that had sex with an HQ Monaro coupe.. Rear fin grew too.

I'm kind of hoping some advertising executive has scored him or herself a classic and gotten a client to pay for it :-)

The add "Captain Risky". Reminds me of that Legendary Stuntman "Leo W****r" from the Paul Hogan Show. (Aired back in the late 1970's on Channel 9. Some of us oldies might remember.)
