Default Swap my mint xr6t for a mint fpv GT?

As many know I have a super low km bf2 xr6t with zf auto, all options leather and sensible mods for 330rwkw. Most likely the lowest km best condition b series xr6t in existence

I know someone that has a BA model GT he has kept in the garage with 14700km, it's a minter.. Absolutely big stock

He has suggested of a trade

Should I entertain this thought?

Both cars are minters so condition isn't a problem... But here are my concerns

Performance wise my xr6t would pummel it every which way

Future desirability of a genuine fpv GT or bf2 xr6t?

I know my car is mint and no issues but you never know with other cars, could be a Friday arvo built GT or if he's hit it and it's been repaired.

His GT is cloth seats whilst mine is leather

Mine is a late 2007 BF2 and his a 2004 BA1 model

Stock boss 290 5 speed vs i6t zf with sensible mods

Double my mileage

Swap or keep what I got?

Is it a straight swap? If so i would take the GT anyday. Performance doesnt matter if its garage queen.

Is the rear seal of the GT leaking?
Will he fit AMG badges to it?

Swap your car for a new Camry....what's wrong with you.

No one can see your ODO when driving your car. Everyone is just laughing at the loser driving an 8 year old car. Its had 2 model changes already.

Now you want to go 11 years old and 3 models ago.

You'd want to get the GT thoroughly inspected before trading or you might need a padded room once you realise you traded a mint BF2 for a not-so-mint BA1. I'll go against the grain and say stick with the car you know.

Also, people who buy BAs for investment purposes belong in the same padded room, imo.

I'm a V8 man through and through but I still couldn't make a decision like that unless I saw the cars.

Post up photos of both so we can see how they actually look stance wise, colour etc.

14700kms is nothing!

The fact that you're BF is modified (sensible or not) devalues it as a low "K" garage queen.

Pics of both cars and ODO as well or the whole thing is just drug fuelled BS.
Oh....and after checking rear main seal and it isnt leaking, id take the GT without hesitation, but he'd probably want 5k in cash as well as the swap.
Hulk, you're a classic....

7850km.... its getting up there for a bf.

What holds me back from the GT is a few things...

- 5 speed manual cant handle any decent mods
- boss290 needs full exhaust and cams to be remotely fun.
- the plastic tensioners in the early boss + coolant flow issue
- boss290's arent gonna be collectible in the company of miami v8s and i6t motors. Sort of like the poor cousin.
- my xr6t is just perfect at the moment. Needs nothing.

Biggest issue though is the 5 speed box..

BUT

I am a v8 man...
Love fpv cars
Boss290 is still very nice motor..
Love a manual v8 cruiser

Jeez, have you ever even driven the thing? Why don't you get the thing out and use it? It's only a xr6t after all. If I were you I'd stick with the car you have. Since you never use it it really doesn't matter what chunk of metal you have in the garage, and to think about having to DRIVE the GT from the shed it's in now to your shed just gives me chills, I mean, that could put upwards of 5kms on the odo possibly more of he lives further away but that's just too terrible to even comprehend.

BTW, this thread is very obviously a made up scenario so he can compare his car to a GT and come to the conclusion that his is better (on paper).

No not a made up scenario... its actually a really tough decision..

The GT isnt the ideal GT being a 5 speeder and not at least late 05 model post plastic tensioners but 14000km is pretty good. Still a damn nice cruiser. Ive owned a boss 5.4 manual before from stock to cammed and then supercharged so i know they are great cruisers.

But my xr6t being late 07 bf2 has the typhoon internals, has the glorious zf, with 7850km... like new..

Before i bought the xr6t i was very very close to buying a 6 speed manual ba2 GT with 32000km. Couldnt make my mind up then and someone else bought the GT making my decision easy. At the time i couldnt decide.
