Just after a bit of info on build times for a newly ordered Territory at the moment from anyone in the know.
We placed an order right at the end of January and were told Factory was at 50% staff level and all new orders would be three months before delivery which is what the basis deal was done around (was also told this time frame from other dealers). Boss Lady received a call today saying it's arrived (in Wa) and ready for pick up less than 5 weeks after placing order. Hoping the dealer isn't trying to palm off a earlier build date. Any info much appreciated guys!

Factory hasn't been anywhere near 50% staff levels for quite some time.

I care Bud hence the question
Serious? Even if it's a 15 plate and we've purchased a 16 plate?? Doesn't favour us in resale value

I would email the dealer and get them to confirm the vehicles details by sending you a pic of the compliance plate.

As long as its the colour/spec you ordered and a 2016 plate then just take it... If its a 2015 plate tell them to jam it...
Go down and look at the thing to confirm...

So I've discovered after placing an order for a April/May compliance plate vehicle
( this is what the deal was done around) the dealer is trying to supply me with a January plate. No thanks.

Seems most want to go off on a tangent here.
Just after info on current build times as per thread title from anyone with relevant and credible info!

Depending on what specs you have ordered you run the risk of not getting a car at all if you want a "fresh" one directly from the factory. It has been mentioned a number of times from people in these forums that should know that the longer that you left it to order one the less chance that there was of getting the exact car you wanted. In other words, it is not a question of build times, it is a question of whether Ford will build or not. |

Maybe you can explain why it is so important to have a particular build month, it still will be 2016 and there are not going to be any spec changes. At least the car hasn't been sitting around for very long.

Build time is too long. I know they are being built to order but who is going to wait 3 months?? When other suv's are available within 2 weeks ????

You can get one today if you want one, you just have to be flexible about colour etc. Just like you if you want a particular imported model and a dealer doesn't have it in the colour you want you will have to wait 3 months. Ford has a decent Territory order book, so I wouldn't be fussy if I wanted one.

There's plenty of Territory's in the dealer yards I go past, I'm betting anyone could have any combo they wanted tomorrow if they looked hard enough.

If he is expecting April/May build so be it
Why would you want a Jan build if your planning on a latter purchase date anyway Cant see what every body is getting so excited over |

As I originally said, in a few years time when its resale value becomes important, the difference in valuation between a Jan & an April Territory will be nil. The car's value will depend on kms, condition & service history. You would have thought that the buyer would have been happy to receive his 2016 plated car earlier than expected, unless finances were the issue. Dr Terry |
