Agreed, it feels like an answer to a question no one asked.

To make more money, money, money.
Just like Porsche's Cayennes, I couldn't careless about these cars, but if they make enough money to fund crazy *** Lambos hypercars in the future then so be it.

Hasn't this been a thing for a couple of years now?
This aint an SUV. Its a fat coupe with raised suspension. They say everyone wants SUVs, but SUVs are turning into normal cars. So people want normal cars that are called SUVs for some reason. Last edited by Ben73; 08-12-2017 at 09:05 PM. |

According to Lambo "functionality typical for an SUV" yet specification and the pictures of the Ur-Anus makes no mention of tow capacity or provision for a simple tow hitch?

Optional off-road package will include restyled front and rear bumpers for better approach and departure angles, a tow kit and other ancillaries. I'd say it's somewhere around the Cayennes 3500kg braked capacity. No doubt about the chassis strength or 478kw would be up to it.

I like how you all bag it... yet most could not afford one.
As for the driveline..... all VW group use that V8TT engine in different states of tune. Lamborghini have extracted the most power. If I could afford one... I'd buy it, why? Cause I could. |

You sound like you would probably pick an X6 over an X5 as well.

Forgetting the petty comments about who could afford what, it is worth remembering 99% of high end cars are worth a quarter of their original ticket price in under 5 years. They are not better cars so much as better finished in many cases, and often there are as many issues/call backs as a Korean or Thailand manufactured car. The service costs are generally many times more expensive for exactly the same procedures. Many also need to realise that their prized Euro may have been built in Asia or South Africa, only the design is German. To me, the question has always been, what am I really getting for my money and do I really need it? When I apply that logic to my choice of automobile, Ford has always ticked all the boxes for me.

Hence the wording of my post. ''may have been built'' I don't know the exact range of models, but Mercedes have a Beijing plant, South Africa has BMW and Mexico has Audi, Honda & Fiat amongst others. Obviously the top dollar models are German manufactured, but the days of the entry level model coming from Germany are long gone.

I get it but in the same token I don't get it. So the (apart from tractors) only real deviation from the brands low slung sports car angle was the lm002 which atleast had the v12 . I'm still unsure why the suv has replaced the station wagon. Now I've have had an suv before. It was a cx9 luxury and it was a pig on everything. I'm pretty sure a falcon wagon, or a mondeo wagon has about the same off road ability. Granted I'd take any lamborghini that was offered my way, but having no middle ground and going from low slung sports cars then bam, soft roader. That's just odd.

For me, I'd rather have a wagon, a Mondeo or Skoda Superb.

Even a poverty model Subaru Forrester would probably out perform the thing on a rough dirt track!

I am not so sure. Urus is based on the MLB platform, same as Cayenne and Bentayga. The latter of which is quite capable offroad, well a modest one. So the Urus has the hardware to do it if required.

I'm sure whoever buys one of these probably has a Range Rover or equivalent to off road in, along with probably 10 other more appropriate cars. No idea why anyone would take a Lambo off road, even one pretending to be an SUV. Except rich oil shieks who hit the sand dunes in things like this. |
