958 for the Everest would have to be it's best month since going on sale wouldn't it?

Yes it was.

Ford have really made up some ground lately with Everest and its no surprise.

Anyone who drives one back to back with a Prado typically drives home in the Everest.

They also fixed the look with the Sports model which has probably been the main contributor to the increase in sales.

This car could do better if they had more stock.

I agree the Everest is a better driving car, but the Prado for me still offers more room...Ford IMO really need a full sized 4x4.

Everest is a great herbivore l vehicle having owned one for a few years. The engine is really disappointing though but the Prado was worse.

I agree, a full size 4x4 would be welcomed. You run out of room and payload in three Everest quickly..

Been said by others including Joshua Dowling (who must read these forums ..hey Josh...) if Ford US had of spent money on making the Explorer RHD instead of the Edge what might have been......

Im really suprised that the Rav4 has beaten the hilux.. is this a supply issue for hilux or a slow trend that buyers are not hapy with them?

Lol, considering Hilux came off a record month for March(5300+) it must be a fairly recent trend.

What you are seeing is peaks and troughs due to supply constraints, looking at month by month results until production and supply chains regulate is misleading, 2021 will be best measured as a whole.
200 series V8 runout would also be impacting Hilux sales as punters stretch for the last V8.

If you look at Hilux, Rav and LC200 from March and April you'll find the combined numbers very close, so despite dropping 1000 units in April, it wasnt from their main money spinners.

You really think a buyer that was going to buy a Hilux ute if Landcruiser was staying with a v8 has decided to buy the last v8 Landcruiser instead?

Yep, infact i know of 2 who instead of buying another Hilux, opted for the 200 series.
There is a real fomo around the 200 series runout, those that can, are.

I'm guessing work usage of Hilux or Cruiser wasn't an issue?

Extraordinarily for the Ranger. Ford have done an amazing job keeping what is now an outdated model, not only competitive in sales, but number 1 against a horde of manufacturers with new models.
What is the 2022 Ranger which is going to be on another level going to do to the competitors.
Great job with the Everest also and for probably the first time in it’s existence, within sight of Prado.
Mustang no.1 in Sportscars again for probably every month for the last 5 years also adds to what has to have been the best month for Ford for I don’t know how long..
Job well done Ford..

42 Fiestas? Aren't they just selling the ST model now? That's not bad if it is just the ST.

Correct.

I can see Focus being the same (ST only) sooner than later which is a shame.

Such great cars let down by poor marketing and poor customer experiences.

I wonder if it is delivery of back order?
Yes I agree with the Focus, I really like the look of the current one. A neighbour has the wagon version of it. Jeez what a looker.

Imagine if Ford did some kind of trade in deal to try and claw some market share back.

Sure they might take a hit on the sale of the car, but they need t get trust back into the market and people wont go back unless there is a decent carrot.

Its like they have totally disowned Focus and just shows there's no money left in small cars, unless of course you're MG.

I can see the Focus range being ST only by end of year.

I think with all the supply issues at the moment the numbers are not really showing the whole truth. Some vehicles have such a long wait that it may be driving people to buy a different vehicle with less wait time. Hence a bump in sales for some vehicles

It's utterly remarkable that 2 vehicles that are in their last year on sale are going gangbusters. Usually by this stage the numbers are dropping off, while people wait for the new model.

Trolls must be so disappointed.

It doesnt hurt that when the PX was released, it was so much better than anythying else available and Ford hasnt rested on its laurels like some others and have tweaked it over its lifetime to make it better. No-one else has done it as well.... I see no reason why the new one wont be a similar tale...

Agreed.

Ford screw up on a lot of things, but they have absolutely nailed it with the Ranger.

It’s a design that’s stood the test of time, the refreshes hit their marks with right changes
for the times and that’s the reason why Ranger still seems reasonably fresh and sells well.

Chinese made cars MG, GWM and LDV. 3,007, 1,337 and 1,086 = 5,430

Total market = 92,347

=> Chinese made cars have 5.9% of the new vehicle market

Excellent fight back by Ford when Hilux looked to be running away with sales in previous months.
Ford finally securing enough chip supply for Thailand and increasing supplies is key here,
count me shocked but Everest and Ranger at close to 6,000 sales is welcome news.

For all the complaining about the little 2.0 Diesel engine, Ford sure is moving plenty...
