I dont own an au, but 2 years back i bought an au3 ute for my brother. I gave him a set of elegance 17s in mint condition as they were my spare set and look ugly as on a b series like i have. He lowered his car too far and has all the problems associated with that. So my plan for 2023 AU related is to talk him into new springs in the front to bring it up 25mm to make it practical but still look low.

Started on the 1st-2nd with 2 stage paint correction and ceramic coating.

Next up is installing MGW short shifter.
Replace power steering pump pulley.
Sort AC out front seal on compressor is leaking.
Replace a couple more plugs cam sensor and a coil connector.
Replace all the speakers.
Would like to get a few other things done also like new clutch and install brake upgrades.

I could go on but lets just keep it at that for now.

What are your plans? Are you looking for inspiration?

I haven't really been doing too much the cars in the last year. I say that it is because I haven't had the time but if I being honest with myself, it is more that I can't be bothered finding the time to work on them.

Having said that, here are a couple of things I would like to get done;

FORTE WAGON
  • Finish the sound deadening
  • Have the diff re-built
  • New exhaust system

XR6 UTE
  • Re-fresh the interior (new 2nd hand carpet and 'hybrid' ghia door cards)
  • Radiator (I should get onto this one ASAP)
  • Fix the AC

XR8
  • Re-attach the door card spears in a way that they never come off again.
  • Fix the AC

If I was to win lotto jobs;

FORTE WAGON
  • Closed door respray
  • Have the suspension upgraded to RTV suspension

XR6 UTE
  • Closed door respray
  • Re-furbish the wheels
  • Up-grade to superpro bushes
  • Have the momo steering wheel re-covered
  • Buy a momo gear knob

NOTE: This car, being my favourite out of the three would become a weekender/garage queen and I would buy a cab chassis AU to be the workhorse.

XR8
  • Respray
  • Re-furbish the wheels
  • Buy some more performance based tyres
  • Upgrade the rear brakes to Territory spec
  • Upgrade the brake rotors to T3
  • Re-do the seats in a better quality leather
  • Re-trim the momo steering wheel and gear knob

My plan is to get my XR8 back from my son, he's been 'borrowing' for over 7 months now
