My Bro-in-Law was telling me , he was in the "racing crowd" for 25 yrs ,he raced with Rocky Canto (Deans father) Terry Sheil etc. and still has quite a few contacts . He seems to get a bit of Inside Info that turns out correct .

I would actually think that none of the older drivers would have the money to purchase these cars again, given the current market with old classics going for outrageous prices, it makes some of the old school race cars very pricey.

I think once Bowdens got hold of anyones cars , you'd have "buckley's" buying them back. Apparently CAMS are thinking of extending the "historic car's" criteria to bring some of the older cars back .( eg. my '59 FC Holden Div 2 Sports Sedan , still in 1970 Reg's . No catagory for it at the moment) that's why Gossy and others were interested . I'll try and get a bit more Info & get back . Norm :voldar02:

Did my apprenticeship at the FMC right around this time. There was about 3 or 4 cars DJ had there but from memory they wern't that impressive, basically just a turbo with no inter cooler and yes DJ did work on them himself (He couldn't bronze weld to save his life). I remember the senior mechanics taking them for a thrashing at the back of the factory and not being impressed at all.
