Nice guys finish last??

Guys do you think nice guys finish last is true? It seems to be the case time and time again.The bad guys get the big breaks and opportunities. While the good guys get punished and treated with less respect ?

Are the good guys just not trying hard enough? Or is it that the good guys are bound by to many rules..which make them sitting ducks?

If you are chasing the girls who are only interested in 'bad boys' then be glad you arent attached to one.
Most of them are loose ends and wont be worth your while.

I was thinking more along the lines of business,or work or legal matters...

The news always talks about criminals which get off lightly and victims suffer.

Or that turd who gets the promotion..or the real ratbag which clinched the contract...

Its always good to look back though and say ..that at least you kept some dignity by not using dirty tactics like the others.

I agree, nice guys do seem to get the raw deal these days, in pretty much everything - there is always someone who is only too happy to screw over any good guys they meet. :(

i think we have all been duped at one stage of or lives and it is good sometimes to have a win fairly

well said, I agree. If you can only win by cheating or taking advantage of someone else, then I think it's a very hollow, unsatisfying win indeed.

This is the problem.How unfairly they play. You must counter their state of play to win right to the boundaries. They get scared wit a bit of luck and think that you are just too good for them.

Mmm i cant think of the last time ive had a "win" with anything. Chicks, money, etc. Just seems i get more if im an ******** than i do being the "nice" guy. Yes ive had a s**t year on account of being the "nice" guy lol.

Its not only a s +@# year or time..it seems to be a wake up call to go harder and learn from the past.We can feel sorry for ourselves or go out and fight for what we want right up to the top. We wont be going done the wrong way again....
How many times do you thnk.."if only I said"" or if only I did"?? Next time ..just do it ,just go for it...its probably better to not pull back at the right time and fight the wrongdoers to the end.

Dont confuse nice with being soft, you can be a nice person and still make the tough calls, and this does not mean being unfair or cheating.

I agree. Being 'nice' and 'honest' with people while stating your point, makes people more inclined to do business with you, and doesn't detract from who you are.

You have to be comfortable with who you are, and if you are dishonest to yourself with the way you represent yourself to others, it will show and play on your emotions.

Be true to 'you' always and don't change your way of doing things to meet others needs or idea's of 'you'.

Spot on. In the end, the 'early win' is really not a win at all. Nice guys don't come last. Intelligence and respect will always shine through. Tough guys end up lonely, and women don't want tough guys as there partners. They are normally shallow and conceited. We want real men.

Yes I totally agree.I am not talking about being a ratbag to innocent people... I am talking about someone like you, me and other people generally who taken for a ride by the unscupulous individuals who do not respect much.I think in those situations that we must get tougher to not get manipulated or duped. I think this is the pivotal point between a good outcome or bad outcome.It is here when we must protect ourselves and families.

For example ..if you are in woolies and you buy things.When you walk out you see that you have been overcharged by computer error for example. Many people walk out with the fear of not casing waves over this.
However if you do not complain then you set a precedent that these guys can make big profits on our weak will. So it is true that it can be done politely and ina civil way,but if you are not assertive about it they will treat you with less respect and worse ..it is true that you keep the civility by being quiet but it is at your loss.

And this is a one off real life example.

Today I was at the m4 motorway. I had alot of coins and aplogised to the lady.Because she saw that I was a "nice guy" she had a dig at me about the coins and that they were notin order as well.So I said to her that if she wanted 20 cents fora lolly!! She shut up and said thank you.

Nice guy finished first!!

An ******* with no intelligence and no respect for anyone managed to f**k a perfectly good friendship/sorta relationship with sum chick and me. So i guess i do finish first sometimes. I want to be the person who doesnt screw people over because i dont like it so why give it out.

then you keep believing that, you have to be ruthless and dishonest to get by in this world, i found that out as soon as i started to work in a professional role, ffs they call us(teenagers) immature and what not....i have now realised how pathetic most adults are. you basicially have to hit below the belt to win, in business. yes it is true nice guys finish last.
