Default Interior Options

Alright, my next round of mods is coming up and i need your ladies' opinions. Feeling a bit like a nancy boy at the moment (The feeling is wierd). I'm focussing on my interior again. My door trims are getting re-done, in a sexy burgandy/maroon & black leather.

Now as for my seats, I have 3 options:
1) Keep my existing seats
2) Get leather seats (I've found a black set from a Fairmont/Fairlane Ghia)
3) Get different cloth/suede/velour seats (From a TE50)

Now, I want the seats to be in mint condition. I found a set in black leather, which need a clean, and are fairly good. No obvious marks, or tears/rips. Now leather, will get hot in the summer, fade a bit easier, marks will be more noticeable.

Leather trim (or similar):
http://www.aufalcon.com/Members/Dauphin/Dauphin006.jpg
http://www.aufalcon.com/Members/Dauphin/Dauphin007.jpg

Theres also a TE50 cloth trim. I'll still have leather doors and a leather console lid, so i'll still have some class, and the seats will be fairly unique. But it's not leather.

TE50 Seats for those who don't know:
http://tseries.cjb.cc/Gallery/T1/images/t1-te50-6.jpg

Unfortunately only the Rear bar, and one side skirt is in-tac, so the bodykit is ruled out. So C2R kit it is.

I'm leaning towards the TE50 trim myself. Thanks guys

i'd go black leather, will look great! Have you thought about getting your stock seats re trimmed in good quality leather? i heard the ford leather isn't that good quality.

Yes I have thought about it, smallest quote was around $2500-$3000, and I called about 6 joints. And as I'm still a student, thats a no go at the moment.

This guy wants $1000, for the Black Leather interior including the door trims. He could easily be talked for $800 cash, without the trims. They just need a good clean, as they got a bit of dust on them. They had no real marks on them, except there was one thing that put me off. In the back seat, there was like an indent, probably from where it was resting against a corner.

It's a bit hard to get a visulization of them, without them looking 100% before you buy. So it's hard, and i want the leather to look schmick, not just ok.

Leather for sure. I have ford perforated black leather (not the same as dauphins) and it looks unreal (plus the perforations breath a bit better). As for feel - yea I'd say Ford leather isn't THE best i've come across but its very tight which i quite like (doesnt feel slumpish) and again i reckon it just looks a million bucks.

Leather all the way LG. All class, will look nice with the trims too.

Hot in summer sure, but you've got tinted windows and great falcon air.

T-series trim will just be a minor enhancement over your current seats, however Im guessing they are more supportive and electric.

I remember reading 100's of reviews before buying my car and one of the plus's for the falcon was that seats were easy to repair. If you were to buy the leather in that pic then im assuming it wouldnt be much to get it tight and new again.

So I say go for the leather, but if you want something that feels good around corners, go the T's.

If they are from the TE50 i doubt they will be electric, and they probably won't be much better than the forte seats. The TS50 was the one with really good seats.

TE seats would have to be better than Forte seats! Even XR ones have more over low series ones so i cant see them going backwards. My only gripe with them would be keeping them clean - the velour is a to keep clean.

afaik the only difference between forte and xr seats was the trim by the looks of some pictures of AU xr interiors. The TE seats appear to be the same.

My AU111 XR had Leather, and it alone mad me a convert to the wonders of Leather. For starters, of you spill something on it, you can wipe it off. No problems with staining or marking. The Charcoal was Freezing in winter, so Thermal underwear is a necessity.

Glenn, the XR seats had more pronounced bolsters and backs, making the driver stay in their position, no matter what the speed or conditions. They are WORLDS better than the Forté seats, not to dis a Forté or anything, but the XR is hardly the Povvo Pack.

I say go leather. You won't regret it.

I'm still not too sure. I think I am leaning towards the TE50 seats. As I don't think i'd be happy with the condition and look of the leather if it wasn't brand new. Or the right colour.

They TE seats are described as "Sports cloth/suede trim in warm charcoal is standard for the TE50". They also have the rear center arm rest which is a bonus. The condition of them should be near perfect, as it is a T-Series, and should have been looked after, and should have low kms. They aren't electric, and i think they'll have a bit more padding & support than my current seats. And i'll still have some leather.

Okay so, i think i had my mind set on the TE50 seats, as i dont think the leather seats were up to scratch.

Now, there is a set of leather cover's for my seats. For only around $550 + another $50, for the wrinkly/bumpy effect. And another $50 for a two tone colour.

The colours are:
Red

Black

Black & Red
Ivory

Light Brown
Black & Ivory

Black & Blue
Blue

At the moment, i'm thinking Wrinkly/Bumpy Ivory, or Black, or Black & Ivory together. Then the TE50 seats.

What you guys reckon?

As long as you won't be able to tell that they are seat covers, then $550 for a full set is way cheaper than getting a retrim. Are they a custom fit? If so, then sounds like a very smart plan.

The creases are only there because the leather has been folded. And I think they would look better on a falcon, were the seats are a bit more bigger, and have more shape to it. I'm not sure...

Heres one of the bump/crinkle effect:

I'm not keen on them because even in those pictures you can see they're not really made for the car. Theyre essentially just a seat cover and thats what they look like. That and the colours are awful!

Go the Leather, you know you want to ;).

Those pictures look familiar to me. Is this place in South Dandenong? If it's the same place, I'm hopefully going there on Saturday to see what these leather covers look like because I'm thinking of leathering up the AU. I had a picture sent to me of an AU that they did. It looked really good.

Um, I'm not quite sure... I think so.

Let me know how you go, and what you think, and maybe some pictures. I think for now, I'm going to get my doors done next week, and get some throw over seat covers, until i work out what i'm going to do with my seats.
