Default The world has come to an end

Relatively speaking

Not to put too finer point on this but my weekly jaunt to the local Subway restaurant (to be kind) has revealed the exclusion of pine apple from the menu.

Now I have the great North Melbourne stalwart in Sam Kekovich (after the vegetarian lobby has finished with him –who would have thought) on standby to represent this worthy of causes but I first must ascertain the magnitude of such an injustice.

I ask my fellow subterranean’s is my experience isolated or is this misguide tom foolery wide spread?

Mate this disgusting diplay swept thru SA probably 12 months ago.

But, i fear the worst is not yet over for you. You might wanna sit down for this....

About 3 months ago now they removed.... beetroot.. from the salad selection. I only pray this affliction does not reach the far southern areas of this great land...

I had a similar drama when Burger King was around competing with Hungry Jacks (yes I'm being totally serious). BK changed the chicken nuggets(different to the HJ ones) and they stopped selling double cheeseburgers. I was furious.

Thankfully Hungry Jack's won out over Burger King and the double cheeseburger and a uniform style of nuggets are now available from all stores. HJ's also won the war of keeping the name (BK in the USA wanted to keep the BK name)and they are now the name that applies to this chain of fast food restaurants now. I consider this a strike for freedom for greasy food.

And good riddings to pineapple. Pizza is the only excpetion I will make in regards to contaminating savoury food.

What was worse than the pineapple situation was the fact that subway got rid of old english cheese! I love that orange crap...thankfully management have come back down to earth and brought it with them.

4.9 - Since when did subway offer beetroot! We sure as hell dont get it.

Do I sound like I am not being serious? Tasmanians have no sense of humour. It was inbred out of us nearly half a century ago.
Where would the rough end be without the pine apple? Where do we get that now?

This is worse then I thought. :

I used to work at a subway store, as one of the managers. SInce ive left;

1. pineapple removed from menu
2. Caeser sauce removed
3. American Mustard - GONE!!!! (i hate them for that)
4. carrot added
5. some leafed crap added (got NFI what it is)
6. added shredded cheese
7. renamed Steak and cheese to (wait for it) Cheese Steak

Now, this is subway in Melbourne, in QLD and NSW, carrot and beetroot has been on their menu for ever, only now does Melb have it, but where is my Beetroot, anf my bloody Mustard?

Yes, lunch was indeed very good today.

At the franchise I frequent they still have everything that seems to have been deleted elsewhere (bar caesar dressing).

P.S. My god, Ian! I didn't realise you had joined us here, great to see you onboard!

Not fussed on beetroot myself so when I go into a real burger joint I love to ask 4 an "unrooted " burger :

BTW 'whats the difference between an egg and a beetroot"?

A. You can beat an egg but you can't beat a root. : :

I asked about this OUTRAGOUS display a while back.

Word from head office is they have to bring all stores into line with the US stores!

Once again, seppos screwing everything up for us aussies! (come on, someone bite! :P)

This is utter crap! Chicken fillet with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, BBQ sauces and mayo isn't the same without pineapple!

As as for beetroot....thanks for nothing USA!

I had my subway melt a couple of days ago, at the Scoresby Subway, and I got my pineapple in it. They better not scrap it from the menu.

Grrrr I'm slowly getting over Subway anyway... I never got the chance to indulge in a few slices of beetroot on my turkey/ham/beef roll. Finally they bring carrot!! I haven't had the pineapple, but like knowing it's there for when I need a change, my girlfriend is going to be distraught! :o

I was at work yesterday craving the taste of teriaki chicken for hours and when I got there they had none left :(

and yes I was also outraged as I always had pineapple and beetroot and not only did they remove them permantely they raised the prices!!!! I mean you're paying for less than what you normally get, but I still enjoy a sub every now and then ;)

Yep, Subway is slowly turning to crap.
I'm reduced to ordering only tomato onion and lettuce on my Subs now,
apart from the usual bacon, cheese & steak.

They just don't taste the same without pineapple, and Subway just
don't get my custom as much anymore either........

Time for an Australian version methinks.

"I'm just going out to get some Tunnel"..........

The only changing they need for the cookies is to call them BISCUITS!!!!

This happens a bit when I get Subway;

"Would you like any cookies with that?"
"No thanks, but I'll grab an ANZAC biscuit."

Same goes for chips, sauce and any other Americanism for which there is an Australian version.

Stuffs them up every time!
