Just found these National Fleet discount prices for the 380 auto models.
380: Price (excl GST) $32718 Discount $5399 %Discount 16.5 VRX: " $36355 " $5453 " 15 LS: " $37264 " $4099 " 11 LX: " $42264 " $4649 " 11 GT: " $43627 " $4363 " 10 So if dealers could offer the discounts above to private buyers, the driveaway price for the 380 would be in the low $30Ks and for the VRX in the mid $30Ks. |

Yes, just had a mate buy a brand new VRX with some options for under 40,000 grand, he works for mits and got it at fleet pricing, nice nice car to, no match for a Falcon but seriously not bad for what they are, I'd even consider one!

I wonder how they feel about their new car selling so relatively poorly. From what I gather, it's not a bad car. |

For reference the Leyland P76 lasted 16 months from start to finish (June 1973 to October 1974). FF |

I was at Mitsubishi earlier this week. There is already a sizeable number of 380s at the back of the Mitsubishi assembly plant.
November Vfacts will be released early next week. It will be interesting to see how well the local models sold. FF |

Why do I get the feeling that 380 resale is going down the Magna path.
The magna resale was woeful, you can now get a 2.5 year old XI Verada that retailed for 50k for about 18k and for a while Mitsubishi was selling new TJ and Tl's for about 27K driveaway. I dont really want to see a nice car like the 380 suffer from resale about on par with a Kia, it doesnt deserve it.

Resale on Falcons and Commodores is around 52% for base models, Magna was around 31%. That is massive depreciation, and if Mitsubishi aren't careful 380 will go the same way.

Read in the paper today that Mitsubishi sold only 980 units of 380's in October but are apparently on course to selling 1800 in November (claimed by them). These are still Magna figures so it will be interesting to see how this increases for them. With a 600m cost for this car the ROI is not looking that great at the moment. Hopefully the market for large car family sedans will improve with petrol prices stablising more now.

A bloke at my work got a quote on VRX with some options 32000 drive away. This obviously does not include GST.
