Good luck in getting the council to do jack shyte!
I hit a huge pot hole in the rain about 8 years ago right on the cusp of BCC (Brisbane City Council) and PRSC (Pine Rivers Shire Council) border at Bald Hills/Strathpine
The BCC blamed the PRSC and they blamed the BCC and in the end they both blamed the Dept of Main Roads and then they pointed me back to the local council who looked after the minor arterial road and one of them got a subcontactor in to repair the pot hole from neither of the 2 councils owned up to doing it
In the end $200 for a new wheel or a few thousand in solicitor bills to try and get one of the councils to cough up

yeah the council has said they are going to pay for the damage. Roadworks happened there on the saturday and instead of finishing the job they just filled it up with gravel. Being a busy road the gravel just got taken out of the hole by each passing car. There was no signs to indicate any road works and as it was in shadows impossible to see. Our car was not the only one damaged. Actually we have had no problem with the council at all (Brisbane) they have been very apologetic.

here are some more pics as you can see it was very hard to spot and at the time two cars had parked further up in the left lane to change tyres.

I have heard off someone else on here doing the same thing, and the council footed the bill.

Wow.... that is just wrong! It is over the two lanes! What if you lost control because it was raining and the car lost traction?!

Im sorry, the Fiesta is a great rally car... but thats just harsh!

I'd be asking for some legal advice and getting the council to pay. 4 Alloys (Steelies even) and 4 tyres are not cheap! I just spent $890 on tyres alone!

WOW! That was quick! Congrats with the quick response to that council! Mine seems to stick to waiting till the road is rocks before fixing it......... Oh, and shutting off the WHOLE street to do a little patch work. Ridiculous!
